I was born a Catholic (which is also Christian) but it was only the last 3 years wherein I really took it seriously and really committed my life to God, but I transferred to another denomination/church. Even though I have been a Christian for 3 years I was not able to read the whole book, it is very thick and I dont read everyday. I have read some few parts and stories but not everything. Sometimes I get so excited to read it that I finish many chapters or books at one time, but sometimes I also feel lazy to read it. Sometimes, I also dont like to read other books in the bible because I didn't find it interesting.

I would guess that one of the books you don't find interesting would be Leviticus.haha. When I started reading the Bible, I started with Genesis and when I got to Leviticus, I had a hard time continuing. Those parts that describe to many details just cause me to be sleepy. But after much pushing, I was able to finish those boring parts after a few months and then went ton to read the other books in chronological order. After a year and a few months, I finished reading the whole Bible. I was so proud of myself.haha

lol. I think that is on of the books, among the many books in the bible I didn't find interest in reading. Most of these books are in the old testament. I didn't like the old testament as much as I liked the new testament because I found it boring and I thought that I didn't need to read the stories since they were just stories. But now I have realized that God must have a reason why He placed it there. Every little thing that He does has importance. Anyway, I am glad that you read the bible. I usually pray before I read the bible so that God will help me understand it. It is really difficult to understand without God.

I have not read the entire Bible as of yet, or even come close, to be honest and I am 24, saved since 12. I think my problem is, until now, I have had a hard time finding a Bible that I can understand the wording of. I looked into the New Living Translation and it seems pretty understandable and has even been recommended to me by a friend, so I am looking into buying a copy for myself soon. I think then, my husband and I will want to sit down together and work our way through it. =)

I have read the entire Bible and some books I've read with a commentary which is really helpful. I think everyone should read the Bible. Besides revealing Jesus Christ to the world, it's also a handbook for life. Even if one doesn't believe the Bible is the word of God, they can still benefit from the wisdom within its pages.

hello lunatique! I don't think that God would be angry at you for not reading the entire Bible. Cause you know what, it really doesn't matter. What's important is that you read part of the Bible and PLANT God's word in your heart! What do I mean by this? and how would you do it? Here's how: 1. Pray for God's guidance and ask for wisdom that you may understand what God wants to tell you now before you read the Bible. 2. Read and remember with your heart the words that strikes you or makes an impact in your life. 3. Follow your heart to do good, for it is with our hearts that God makes His presence known. 4. Remember, you need not read the Bible as if it is just another plain Book. It is a Book where God speaks to us too.

I think every Christian should be able to finish reading the Bible. It's the basis of our faith right? It would be hard to believe in something we do not know about.

I have been saved for 38 years and have read the Bible through a couple of times. However, I think it is more important to try to read and study the Bible some every day because it is food to our spirit and helps us grow as Christians. To read the Bible through, some people find it useful to go by a schedule that will guide them to read it through in a year, such as the one found at: http://www.arcamax.com/ttb-yr.html

I am 34. Been a christian for 20 years and I have not read the entire Bible. I have read many parts of it, but have not done the whole thing. There is a book called Reading the Bible Day by Day or something like that. Not sure if that would help you or not.

I am 30 years old and I have been a Christian since well, I was 4 and again at 21. I have not yet to this day read the entire bible. I think that I have always tried and I had a good start at it, and then I just fell off and started reading other books that I have already read. But I have never been able to get through the entire bible. I have read the whole entire New Testament though, so I guess you can say I got half way through the bible. I don't believe that it is a requirement to read through the entire bible though, but you should at least study the bible. There is no requirement that I know of. I just read.

I haven't finished reading the Bible. Actually, I started reading the Bible last month.:D I finished John and I started reading Matthew a while ago...:D And even if I've finished reading all the books that the Bible contains, I'll still read it again and again...:D There are a lot of things to learn in the Bible and a lot of answers to discover...:D

Am still Reading. But don't just read for the sake of reading to complete it. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you Understand it because it Him that Inspired the writers of the Bible

It's really boring for me. I'm not a christian anymore so it's a little too late for me to take anything seriously anymore. It's full of contradictions anyway so you'd probably have a hurting head trying to read it all.

Luckily no! Maybe if Jesus were a writer, than it would be; but Jesus (though He did many things He wasn't famous for) was famous for doing two things: speaking & healing. And really, a lot of the 'healing' was actually "a placebo (ple-CEE-bo) to help people heal themselves." But the speaking often proceeded from 'having rehd the Torah and prophets.' However, after having done that, He found that 'the entire law and prophets hang on TWO guidelines: love your Lord G-d with your entire being, and love your neighbor as yourself.' You do those two things long enough, and you're in Heaven whether-or-not you read a single letter!

Maybe 1/4 to 1/2 of the Bible I have read already. My goal is to finish it soon. What is important is, we internalize everything that we read in the Bible. There is Holy Spirit to guide our reading. Just pray and ask for guidance whenever you read.

Well I am an atheist but I have read the bible because the majority of the people here are Christian so it would help to know a little about it. And I'm more of a non-fiction kind of guy but the Bible had so many twists, turns, and retcons. It was a pretty good read I should say.
