What is the best TV show turned movie?

We went and saw Toy Story 3 this weekend and one of the previews was for Smurfs. Doesn't suprise me that it is being made a movie. That was a great cartoon when I was little. It made me start thinking of all the TV shows that had turned in to movies. Which ones do you think are the best?

I think a few of the Trek movies were pretty good, Wrath of Kahn being the best... but the first one was right up there with Spock's Brain for bad.

Never been a Stare Trek fan, so I have not seen any of the movies. I can't relate to you on this one, my friend. I will have to take your word on it.

I'm a dyed in the wool SF fan, been to cons, met actors and writers (more Doctor Who actors than Trek) and met some of the writers I love!

I have a buddy like that. I tease him alot. I might have to do the same to you:) That is really cool that you have been able to do all those things in regards to something that you really like. I enjoy sports and have done all sorts of things in regards to seeing it

I didn't know they had progressed with the Smurf movie. I had heard they were going to make one, but didn't know it was so close to release. Let's see, best TV show turned movie? Well, I've only seen a couple episodes of the old TV show Charlie's Angels, but I thought the very first Charlie's Angels movie was pretty good. It was funny and action packed. I mean it isn't Shakespeare, but I was thoroughly entertained. The second Charlie Angels movie was pathetic, but the first was good.

It isn't Shakespeare...lol. Charlies Angel is pretty good. The Smurfs movie is due out in 2011. It is not a cartoon either

I will always adore Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (I'm a sucker for time travel) but I think Serenity has wormed it's way to the top of my list.

I have done some fan stories, mostly Doctor Who, don't really know where they are tho I think they are on Teaspoon - maybe... TheFanScene-subscribe@yahoogroups.com there are some here too

Wow, a writer. I am a Language Arts teacher so I am impressed when I find writers. I like to do a lot of free writing on my own. Keep it up, it is a valuable thing to do to keep your mind fresh
