Water Shortage Are You Affected?

Yesterdays news really saddened me. A lot of places here in Manila have no water. People are reporting for fire, just for fire trucks to come then they will barricade around the fire truck with their drums and pails just to ask for water. Some people already ruined some pipes underground so they can get water. And those trucks that do deliver water are having trouble distributing water properly because people are fighting over the water hose. I hope this problem will get resolved soon. Lucky are those who have plenty or enough water. I think it's best to save water, just think about all those people fighting for it.

Hi dear, Here the trains and all traffic got stopped due to heavy rains and watered on tracks. The rains started in the very early morning and not stopped for 5-6 hours now. I mean to say, there are water everywhere but we are not doing much to preserve it. We got 24 hrs. water supply at home. I always used to tell my family that do not spoil even a drop unnecessarily. The coming generations are going to suffer a lot due to scarcity of water. We need to adopt more efficient and friendly systems to collect and preserve the rain water and which can reduce the scarcity of water for a great deal. Think that your problems on water got resolved. Regards, Thank-s

Hi. Thanks for your comment. People should really learn how to preserve water. It is very important. And for those who have plenty of water should learn to save and not waste any.

but they said on the news that level of water in angat dam has improved 0.7 meters already. so it is good news and that the rain we had lately though not that strong has helped to increase the water level in the dam. so hopefully this crisis will not get worse and get solved soon.

I think this is the first clue from nature to us about the shortage of water... This is going to go on worsening. We should plan for future... Even in the city where I stay, I read a news that the water available for the city is going to last for 2 months only. If it doesn't rain at all in these 2 months, then we are for it... I am worried... There should be careful planning for the next 2-3 decades at least... Hope they are listening to us...

Water is very important. We are very worried here too. How can one survive without water. I think it's best to plan ahead just like what you've said. Thank you for sharing.

We don't have a water shortage at this time. However, I always do my best to conserve. I limit showers to 3 minutes. I wash clothes with a newer machine that using less water. I use the dishwasher only every two to three days depending on how full it is. We have to all learn to conserve if not one day there maybe no water at all.

This year has actually been a mix of being a very hot summer and also a wet summer. We are actually having a more tropical weather pattern here in Kentucky and that has meant that we really haven't experienced any shortages of water this year. I think that it is really sad to hear that there are places that have such a shortage of water. I think this shows us that we should all conserve water where ever it is possible to do so.

Having no water is hard but the lack of discipline will only make things worse.

Here in Baluchistan province of Pakistan, lands are watered using the underground freshwater. But the shocking news is, the areas where you would get water on 100 feet below the ground level, now in those areas the water level has gone down to 400 and 500 feet. So there are these heavy machines used to pull the water out. On the other hand, poor farmers are not able to buy those heavy drilling machines, so they are giving up and the inflation rate is going higher. IT surely looks like the human race is going towards destruction. Your post is shocking too, and I am really sorry for us.

Luckily we were blessed because we are not affected by water shortage but still we anticipate it unless the Angat Dam back to its normal level. We save water as far as we can even we have enough supply of it.

Water shortage? Luckily not on my part. Although after a storm we didn't have any electricity and water for a day but it resumed the next day. People would just do anything to get water anywhere because water is very important for all of us. We can have no electricity for days because we can have other alternatives to use like gas lamps and candles. But there's no alternatives for water for us to wash laundry and dirty utensils, or take a bath and clean water to drink. I just hope everything will be back to normal soon.

Yeah, kinda...The dorm doesn't allow us to wash our clothes. But the dorm matrons ask us if they could do our laundry but we have to pay them. They collect the dirty clothes everyday and bring them to their houses but due to water problems they've been having a hard time washing all the clothes. So, we get our clothes back really late..:(

Almost everyone in Metro Manila is affected by the water shortage. We're lucky enough to have a house in Cavite where there is no water shortage yet. But our relatives in Q.C. are having hard time getting water supply. It is more bearable to lose electricity than to lose water even without the fires happening at all. The quality of water supply is also a problem that affected residents need to purify or boil their water to make sure they are safe especially for the children.

Water shortage has been a perennial problem in Metromanila, ever since I could remember! I think it is about time for the government to act on this major problem before the people get really irritated. But as a responsible citizen of the country, we must also do our part to conserve water. And, let us also continue to pray for our land - the Philippines - because it is the only one we've got.

I am not so affected because I have water tanks; I'm anticipating the shortage since this is always the case during summer season. I always save water; after I wash the clothes, I use the last rinse for cleaning the floor, washing the rugs and for flushing the toilet. Our schedule usually starts at 8 am then end at 12 pm. When I was watching the tv, I was really sorry for other people who scramble for the water; imagine water is not available for so many days.

Hello! Ive watched the news as well and im so sad seeing our fellowmen having a hard time getting their water from the fire truck and having too much commotion while getting it. Im glad however that we're not experiencing that kind of water shortage here in our place, we do have a daily water interruption at around 8pm but the supply resumes at around 10pm. Water is really a necessity for each and every human being because of too many important roles it played with our lives. Our climate changed so drastically that it also affect our water supply because of lack of rainfall. The best we could do is to protect our mother nature, every little thing we could contribute to preserving it such as planting trees and waste segregation could make difference. I just hope our condition will improve and get back to normal. Good night!

Fortunately we don't have water shortage here in my hometown. But I know some other places in China are suffering from this. Besides, calling fire police with out emergency is illegal in China, anyone who does this can be accused of being disorderly.
