I've been talking with folks who are too sure about the "new" Doctor. Now, I love regeneration episodes, and while this one wasn't the GREATEST one, this SEASON has more than made up for it!
I'm happy to see I'm not the only one who has loved this new season with the new Doctor.
I'm honestly AMAZED at Matt Smith. He really has the energy to BE the Doctor and a boat load of talent too!

I am right there with this guy about all these things he's talking about.
Now...
for something completely different...
One of the places they have been filming at with its OWN invaders!

So, do you like the new Doctor?
What do you think of the invaders?

I actually like the "new" Doctor. As far as talent goes, he doesn't make me cry (Ten had me crying in dramatic scenes) but he makes up for it by pulling off great comedy. (David was good at some funny moments but not slapstick).
Matt grows on you, he isn't a "heartthrob" but something about his energy just draws you in and you can't shake him loose from your heart.
As for the beach... Looks like Dalek castoff remnants that Ten would just LICK if green!

I kind of feel like Matt still looks a little "unfinished" he's so young. I agree, he's not the same kind of good looks as Tennant, but he's nice, like the kid down the street (excuse me for being old here...)
Now that you mention it, Tennant was always licking weird stuff, I hope not jellyfish... (we have a pretty poisonous one down in the Gulf, not as bad as the Aussie ones, but bad enough)

Well, I'm 33 (almost) but I'm with you on the "he is young", I also feel his dramatic delivery doesn't pack the punch that I think David could have done in some scenes. I think he comedy ability and his charm/energy that pulls you works though and though I still prefer Ten I'm not going to go all boycott like a few in fandom have done.
And yes, Ten LOVED to lick things, the door, the green blob (which looked like a colored version of the jellyfish that constantly wash up on shore here in Brazil)... I'm sure a Timelord would be immune to a Man-o-War though. (And since he not only licked it but put it in his larger than they look pocket...that is the type of comedy Ten was good at)
And have you noticed Eleven's quirk? He TWIRLS a lot.

Well, I've got 23 yrs on ya there, my niece is also about that old - maybe 24...
I don't notice some things, but Tennant's aptitude for licking disgusting things was pretty noticeable...
Yeah, I half guess that jellyfish wouldn't hurt a Time Lord, tho they do seem to be susceptible to things like humans.
I once wrote a line in a fanstory where the Doctor (4 in this case) said that Time Lords were a "tough and wily race" I think... That would've been "The Man From the Sky Affair" I believe...

I absolutely love Matt and Karen as the Doctor and Amy! They have such a great rapport with each other. They seem to feed off each other, similar to when Billie Piper was on.
Matt has no problem being goofy.
I am not sure what I think of Alex Kingston as River Song. She was great before in the Library episode. Now she is just creepy.

Piper was good the first couple of seasons, but when she kept coming back from the dimension that she couldn't come back from without destroying the universe...
They do look like they are having a lot of fun most of the time, tho the Angels episode I would say that for Amy, not so much.
I'm waiting with River - Moffett really plans ahead, like the jacket off then on in the Angel epi...

Ah Continuity. The Jacket theory had been debated on it's significance when it first aired. A few were all... 'wardrobe malfunction it doesn't mean a thing' and others like me were - "But but look, he was more affectionate (kiss on forehead instead of pat on the head which shows he was more familiar with her) and he looked around as if not wanting to be seen". Hell, I even though the TARDIS had landed silently because he turned off the breaks.

I can't wait to see the last episode but I'm rather disappointed that it's a cliffhanger--I don't need one of those to make me keep watching.
I rediscovered the Doctor a few months ago and have been catching up on the old episodes with the 9th and 10th doctor. My favorite is David Tennant but Matt Smith kind of grows on you. He has a kind of child-like wonder at things and I agree that he brings humor and fun to the character. His face looks rather unfinished though, he's like a little boy. Tennant was more romantic, I find no romance in Smith but that's okay because he brings more fun to the show. When I saw the previews of the last episode and saw him being locked away, his face seemed to show betrayal and sorrow instead of outrage or fear. He is very expressive.
Thanks for the review site, that was good reading!
