does anyone know wtf is going on with mylot and the guidelines? to me the guidelines here on mylot seem REALLY strict... my discussion got deleted when i was talking about a site because i find some specific parts of a site interesting, but i DIDNT EVER mention the name of a site or give out the link or referral from the site and i NEVER asked ANYONE for ANY referrals or to PM me or anything like that, yet when i talk about how it is like a GPT site and some of its cool features and how great the site is and if anyone is interested in a cool new site, my discussion still gets deleted??? is doing something like that really considered advertising? I DONT THINK SOOOO!!!!!

I actually know how your feeling about this! I also have had some discussions that seemed to me be perfectly fine after looking at guidelines yet it still got deleted. It makes me mad when I feel I have done nothing wring and I am not told what is wrong when I truthfully thought every thing was in line and under compliance. Oh well I guess Mylot will have its ways no matter what.

At the beginning of the year, after the suggestion by many Lotters in one of the discussions by admin Alice asking if we wanted improvements, mylot started sending notifications to inform of deleted posts. It is only the notifications that are new, not the deletions. They always took place in the past too but it does seem that many Lotters were unaware of them, making it appear that there are more now that we are notified of them.

It's happened to me before too. Is that the reason that was given in your deletion notification email? My discussions have been deleted before because I mentioned the number of times I had been paid. lol. The notification from myLot said something about "milestones" and we can't mention those. I agree with you....at times it does seem to be a bit asinine.......

i know huh.. i have never heard anything about "milestones" it doesnt mention anything like that in the guidelines. its kinda frustrating though.. i spend time thinking alot about how to word my discussions correctly so that they wont get deleted and so that i wont get decreased earnings and stuff. cuz when it comes to working, time is money. but i guess alot of my discussions just never turn out good enough?? ohh well.. i guess i will just have to live with being a horrible writer and try my best not to complain...

Well, I don't think having a discussion deleted on myLot has any reflection on your writing abilities! lol. Don't be so hard on yourself. After I had 2 or 3 discussions that I started get deleted, I just decided "to heck with it". I express myself how I express myself. I don't intentionally try to start discussions or reply to discussions that might break some rule. I even wrote to the admin about it once asking them to point out the specific guideline that I broke and it still didn't make any sense to me! lol. To me, the wasted time is more disappointing than the lost earnings. After all, how much is it really? lol. You've got over 1300 posts so you must be doing something right!

Herro lifeafterdeath09 I too have some questions. I do my best to be very careful about violating the guidelines. I only get a message that the discussion was deleted. A thought I'm having, it may not be my response that got the discussion deleted. I do not remember being given a reason for my response causing deletion. I also share another concern. I value my reputation here at mylot, with admin and other members. That doesn't mean I "walk on eggs", it just means I believe in consideration of others. Anyone have any other thoughts? Prosperous mylotting

I got two to three discussions that were deleted before too but when I think about it I think they have read it carefully before deleting it. There are times that I like making discussions that plays along the thin line of violating the guidelines and not violating it. I'm having fun doing that because whenever I got a discussion deleted I don't ask why instead I try to avoid doing the same thing again. I can still say they are fairly reasonable and if you tried reasoning with them they can review your discussion and put it back again. Like what they did to my friend's discussion that seemingly looked like a poll at first.

I also experienced that my discussion/responses got deleted, actually today I got one delete and a day before yesterday I got like 5-6 responses got deleted, I don't really felt bad if my discussion got deleted but I am more concern/worry about my reputation in mylot. I don't think mylot is really strict, we as a members need to follow the rules of mylot, Once we violated the rules we'll get the bad result.

I posted one of your other discussions, an older one though (the one about uploading stuff) .. but yeah, this doesn't sound fun or pleasant to deal with. How can we have conversations on here and MAKE NEW FRIENDS based on topics if they don't even allow us to post things. I can understand not wanting spam, but ugh.. I would think there would be another way to prevent this from happening.
