i have, and have made money from it. i have been investing in stocks for 2 years now and i can say that it's a good way of earning, of making more money. of course, you have to be sure that it's only your spare money since you can lose all of it in bad timing. you have to wait for prices to go up before you dispose of your stocks.

It's nice to hear someone from the Philippines successfully investing in the stock market. How did you invest by the way? Did you invest in PSE, or in some foreign markets? Did you use a stock broker or you invested it directly through online investing? I am planning to invest in Phil. Stock Exchange soon, and I think I need to learn from experienced traders like you...

excuse me, i'm not an expert in stock trading hahaha. i just find it exciting. if you have some spare money, then go ahead. you know, i just started with 1k shares at Php3.60 so that's only 3,600 pesos + broker's fees of less than 200 pesos. so really, you can start small. you have to go to a broker to invest in the stock market. you can't go directly to the PSE. check their site www.pse.com.ph. the site has a complete listing of accredited stockbrokers. you can find one near your area. i'm from the visayas so i got a broker from here. you'll have to fill out some forms. once your money is in, you can visit the pse website and check the prices of the stocks you've invested in. if you want to sell, you can just call your broker and give instructions, you don't have to go to their office everytime you buy or sell your stocks.

Thanks so much for that. Wow, that's really inspiring! That's good news for us! Stock market investing is now open for little guys like us. Thanks for the information. You really inspired me to try investing in stock market earlier than what I have planned. By the way, do they give stock certificates? I mean, where can we get those stock certificates, proofs that we own stocks...

for us small time investors, brokers usually don't give out stock certificates, only official receipts. when i deposit money with the broker, i get a receipt. once i have decided on the stock to buy, they give me an ORDER TO BUY receipt. that goes for selling as well (ORDER TO SELL receipt). my records with the stock broker is filed in a ledger where everything is added or subtracted depending on the transaction. it has the details of all stocks bought/sold. I haven't asked them for a stock certificate but i've read somewhere that you can request that but it would entail additional expenses on your part. and usually, for us small investors, our money is pooled together under the broker's name in the PSE. i still have a lot to learn about stock investing, so it's nice that we can interact here.

I do also wanted to learn about the stock market and invest on it eventually. I read about the free e-book of Mr. Bo Sanchez "My Maid Invest in the Stock Market". How much did you invest? A friend of mine once said, like you, that you shouldn't put everything in it since the volatile nature of the market. I do invest in mutual funds since I've read also the book of Mr. Francisco Colayco that for those who wanted to invest in the stock market yet they do not know how they could opt for mutual funds; however, I wasn't able to buy shares from them for some time now. I will again in the near future. Happy MyLotting! :)

you know, i started with less than 4000 pesos! whenever i have some spare money, i put it in stocks and hold. i only sell when i like the price. i have the book of Mr. Colayco Wealth within your Reach. it's one of those books that encouraged me to go ahead. i've always wanted to invest in stocks several years back but was held back because of my fear that i might lose money. it's gambling alright but if you have the right timing, you can make your money grow. it's true that you shouldn't place all your bets in one stock. you have to pick several companies, and from different categories.

HI! I have not tried investing on stocks yet but I am interested, only thing is I'm not really particularly well aware of how it is being done and the practices involve in it. I want to know some tips on how to invest and the legalities that abide by these kind of business ventures. Who to approach to if I want to buy stocks? Maybe you can try helping me out? Are you a Filipino trading stocks in the Philippines? I want to try investing on stock market.

yes, i'm 100% pinoy. i'd like to encourage other filipinos to invest in the stock market. when you invest, you're helping jumpstart our economy. companies create employment because of the money we put in. first of all, find yourself a stockbroker. the Philippine Stock Exchange site has a complete listing of accredited stockbrokers. just go to the office of the broker you want and fill out some forms. you don't have to be rich to start. but it's important that you also educate yourself on the companies you want to invest in. visit www.pse.com.ph always to know what's going on. read newspapers about our economy. listen to gossips about companies' inside stories. you'll get a lot of those from your broker. dapat tsismosa ka rin hahaha.

Would you care to share your profits over the 2 years? Once, I was going to invest 1000 dollars into a company. It recently plummeted to 30 cents per share from 3.30 dollars per share; then I heard that the company was going to do something big in my area, and so I thought it would be a good idea to invest. But, then something came up and I couldn't invest. Too bad I missed, because in only 1 month the stock went up to a little over 1.8 dollars per share. Now the shares went back down to 60 cents per share, and again I am hearing rumors that this company is just about to do some work up in around my area again. Maybe I should invest, haha.:D

hahaha, well, i invested only the minimum amount required so it's a bit small. i only shared the winning part. there was a time i lost some when i had to take out money from my stock investment since i had to buy a copier machine at that specific time. i couldn't wait for the price to go up. but the machine is being used for business anyway so it evens out the loss.
