IDM - (internet dwd manager) reallt works?

I've used IDM for a long time, I like so much the performance and features, really IDM can't accelerate the speed of downloads, the speed depends only on your connection and is limited by it. But IDM can segment the file you are trying to download and download the parts as several independent files, when the download is complete simply join the parts, this helps to increase a little the download speed making it more efficient, but of course you can't surpass your connection limit. No the download manager doesn't increase your downloading speed. But one simple and interesting ability of those are to resume a stopped download..

I don't think you can speed up your connection more than that what your provider has allowed it. If you are allowed 50mbit/s you can't download with 10mb/s. :)

Yup, it did. Try downloading from file hosting sites that support download managers (e.g. mediafire.com) or download a file from download.com (cnet). The secret is segmentation. ^_^
