used car - any tips in buying used cars?

my wife and i planning to buy a used car, the top two make we are choosing is toyota and honda...can you give us any tips? or links? and where can we buy used car with nice deal in calgary? should we go to a dealer or owner?

hi Bart 78 why not go to lemonfree.com to see what kind of deals you can make on used cars in Calgary.I used the mylot search bar and yahoo and that is what I found. they claim to be inexpensive yet good cars. lol lol.

Well get mechanic help and do a testing. Go for the type of owner, year of car and its tyres

one thing when you buy a use car and if you get it from a dealership ask for a carfax for it. not sure if you are in the states or not.. they have it in the state
