Do you believe that by working from home you are disadvantaged in some way?

I believe I am not. First of all i am still earning a decent amount of money and secondly i am not spending time in traffic or money paying bus fees, petrol and car breakages. I can work at any time I want and whenever i want. The most importantthing is that I am present at home with my family. So when considering all these advanatges I think it is great to work from home.

I think working at home is great for the reasons you mentioned but sometimes it's nice to be dealing with people directly. It might be because of work or just socially. I personally like talking to people and helping them out. I love being at home too. Working at home would be ideal because of my family. I think I am needed more at home than somewhere else. What kind of work do you do?

I think the disadvantage part is that you work alone. It feels different to work with friends by your side. Going inside the office and having the guard and your friends greet you a "Good morning!" and then having lunch or snacks with your friends and talking a bit while working so you won't feel bored or sleepy. Also, you can easily ask someone if there's something you don't understand. Depending what company you're in, you could also have some really nice benefits. But of course, working home is nice too.

I started earning online over 10 years ago, so I could home with my children. I am so glad I made that choice...I work my own hours, I can stop at anytime to do anything...I wouldn't have it any other way

It is, indeed, great to work from home - if you can find something to provide a decent sort of income. Right now, the money I make online supplements my husband's going-out-to-work daily income. His money pays the rent and bills. Mine gets the extras and helps maintain some things here. I've been writing articles for about a year now - SEO articles - and these are fairly low paying. I try to do ones that pay at least two dollars on up per article. I don't mind doing the lower paying rewrites because most of the research has already been done. Especially on MyLot - all I need to do is clean up someone else's grammar. Often just by doing that I've done an acceptable rewrite in about five minutes. For twenty cents for five minutes work - that adds up to 2.40 an hour, which is slightly better than some people make doing internet work. But it's not minimum wage, either.

Of course not! :) I think people who work from home are more financially independent as they are in charge of their financial life, instead of a boss or the government or the union or other people than themselves. They are more resourceful and adaptable than office workers, who cant suggest ideas to their superiors due to management bureaucracy or office politics. You get to set the goals you want to achieve and spend time at home with your family, how great is that? :)
