Has anyone tried ChaCha?

Okay so it's sad that I am just now hearing about this. I ran across a posting someone left on craigslist. I am a stay at home mom and some extra income could do me good, even if it is just an extra 100-200 a month. I am trying to save for my wedding ceremony and for Christmas shopping. If you have tried ChaCha what are the benefits and downfalls? What are the earning potentials really like from someone who is making money on this website? How much time do you put into it? I am not looking for a fake "make 5000.00 weekly doing nothing, after putting out 300.00" type of job. Just something where you put in some work and get something out of it. Let me know what you think. Thanks Mylotters :)

I have been with ChaCha since October 2008. I started out as a Generalist/Specialist. I was responsible for researching and answering the questions that people text messaged in. The pay was cut in 2009, and I was unable to make as much money as I had at one time, so I switched to the Expediter role. Being an Expediter is so less stressful than a GE/SP. I don't have to research anything. I use PAQS (previously answered questions) and Finders (411, horoscope, weather, movies, etc.) to send a question through in less than 30 seconds. I was taking about 3-10 minutes on one question as a GE/SP. The pay for GE/SP is between $0.10-$0.20 per question, whereas the pay for Expediter is $0.02 per question. In the end, it normally averages out to about the same pay per hour though. Anyway, I'm pretty sure they are still hiring for Expediters, if you'd like to try it out. I started working at ChaCha when my first son was about 3 months old. It was my first year as a stay at home mom, and ChaCha really helped us out! You can log into the server whenever you choose, and work your own schedule, around your own life. It's SO flexible! Some people think that with the paycut it isn't worth it anymore, but in my opinion, it is the perfect way to make extra money around your kids schedule. You don't need silence, you don't have a set schedule, and you can easily make $100-$200 a month. I can make $100 a month with ChaCha by working less than 10 hours a week. If you put in more hours, you can easily make more. I normally make around $250-$300 a month working around my son here and there. I also have a two year old, and I'm 37 weeks pregnant, so I don't work nearly as much as I could. Either way, I recommend ChaCha to anyone who wants that extra spending money to fall back on. Let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck!

How to you switch roles? I posted a discussion up about it before but I never received a response...lol I really would like to change over to expediter if I could. Thanks!

To change roles, just send a request thru feedback in Knowledgebase. I was a GE/SP and as of Friday, I became a transcriber. They will let you know if there are any openings, and when there are, you will be sent a test link and some information about the position.

From what I know, it caters only to US residents. But it's a good site, judging from what I've read on the Internet; reviews and all. But I'm none too sure of how it goes. You might want to check their FAQ's and what others have to say about it..

Chacha is a nice site. You work by answering questions (Any questions.) and get paid for it. The good thing about it is that you can multitask while waiting for work to come in and get paid for googling answers. Bad side is the fact that it only caters to US residents so no international and that there are times that there are no questions at all. I would also recommend for you to try out other sites like weegy and livecounseling.
