Is this one of the most important health discoveries of all time?

I've just come across an article that would be of interest. It's about one of the most powerful antioxidants & it's available to everyone for free! I've felt, since childhood, that being in contact with the earth or splashing around in the ocean has made me feel better. What I didn't know is that there's a scientific reason for this. Throughout most of our existence on earth, humans have walked barefoot & slept on the ground, mostly oblivious to the fact that the earth contains limitless healing energy. Science has discovered this energy as free-flowing electrons constantly replenished by solar radiation & lightning. The ground provides a subtle electric signal that maintains health & governs the intricate mechanisms that make our bodies work - just like plugging a lamp into a power point makes it light up. Our modern lifestyles, including the widespread use of insulated rubber or plastic soled shoes, has disconnected us from this energy & of course we no longer sleep on the ground as we did in times past. According to this finding, the earth provides our bodies with limitless amounts of free electrons, when in contact with it. When these negatively charged electrons enter our bodies, they out number & mop up positively charged inflammatory free radicals. So our earth is actually a very powerful anti-inflammatory & antioxidant. This is indeed good news as most illnesses & injuries show up in our bodies as inflammation of one sort or another. There's a growing body of evidence conducted through scientific & double blind experiments showing the benefits of being properly earthed for extended periods of time. It diffuses the cause of inflammation & improves or eliminates the symptoms of inflammation related disorders. It reduces or eliminates chronic pain. It improves sleep in most cases. It increases energy. It lowers stress in the body & produces calmness by cooling the nervous system & stress hormones. It normalizes the body's biological rhythms. It thins blood & improves blood pressure & flow. It lessens hormonal & menstrual symptoms. It dramatically speeds healing & prevents bed sores. It reduces or eliminates jet lag. It protects the body against damaging environmental EMF's. It accelerates recovery from intense athletic activity. What do people think? What are your experiences on camping trips & swimming in the ocean? Can anyone verify these findings?

I saw the reference to this discussion on buenavida's post. I can't really add any support to this discussion. However, I did run into some articles a few years ago on the importance of connecting with the earth. So, now, whenever I go to the park I just take off my shoes and walk barefoot in the grass. It does feel good!

Thank you for stopping by. And thank you for sharing your experiences & your support. I hope the word gets out there. God has provided us with not just the bare essentials, but every means to help us florish in our daily lives, if we are open to it.

You are absolutely right about this area of health. Many people have always felt better when being barefoot at the beach or directly connected to the earth. I know from experience that I have more energy and feel better living in a warmer climate where I am walking barefoot more often and swimming in the ocean more months of the year comfortably. I grew up in Melbourne where I was insulated by footwear and clothing from the energies of the earth and sun for most of the year and I was often sick. I never get sick these days living in Queensland where I am more in touch with nature. Dietary changes have also helped in this area, but it is definitely a whole lifestyle approach that has helped, more than just the food alone. I have a grounding sheet for my bed also. It has very thin wires running through it which connect to a thicker wire. This runs along the bed, then along the wall and out of the bedroom door, behind furniture then out the front door where it plugs straight into the earth in the front yard. I always tend to have less energy at this time of the year (winter) when I am wearing shoes more often.

Good to hear, mate. I can't wait until I get to Queensland... Tropical Rainforests, Beaches, Islands... you've got the life, mate :-)

I believe this even working in the garden, making contact with the dirt and plants seems to make me feel better, there are many things about our existance that we are closed minded to because the logic is not there for us to see..doing things with nature is a wonderful thing...

Yes, gardening; I've found that also. Maybe we should be doing more to promote these things these days, starting right from our early schooling? Wishing your garden well this summer.

Great information, thank you so much. We have soon summer on this side of the earth, so it will be easier to walk barefoot! Maybe I should move to a warmer place where one can walk on the beach all year..

Thank you for your response here. I hope you get lots of good energy over the summer months. I know it gets really, really cold up where you are, but if it were me, I would just dress warmer & go ahead & walk on the beach anyway! At least it won't be crowded at that time of year.

Yeppers, I need to recharge my batteries now and then by walking barefoot on a beach...or lawn. I think we all ought to have centrifugal force water fountains in our homes, because I think that moving water is healthier than static water. Its all about the ions.

Yes, that's true about moving water. I remember reading something about that from a variety of sources. It seems to "pop up" every now & again. Negative ions are something I haven't spent a lot of time looking into, but there's something in that for all of us. I'll have to look up those water fountains you mentioned - sounds like a good idea & very energy efficient too. All the Best.

That is some amazing information and makes perfect sense that it would work that way. Everything that is us is electrical impulses and chemical balances. Even down to the very beating of our hearts. There is not a lot I can really add to what you have said but I did some research on sunlight and its effect on the body. Apparently we produce Vitamin D when we are exposed to the sun which can be beneficial in many ways. There is also some breakthrough treatments for people suffering from SAD(Seasonal Affective Disorder) where people are exposed to what they refer to as Light Therapy. Light Therapy is also being used to treat skin disorders.

Thanks for stopping by. Yes, I read about about that too. Also light & sound therapy & how they can cure just about anything. Have you had any experiences in any of these areas? I'm hoping you nor others you know aren't affected by SAD (you seem pretty happy to me, so my guess is no!). I'm wishing you sunshine up there.

I haven't read about what you have said. But sleeping in a tent on the earth during camping is great, provided you don't get upset with insects.I feel what you have written makes sense.I would be extremely grateful if you could provide the link to the source of your information as i'm interested in the topic concerned.I have never swam in the ocean and can't say much about that.
