The style is called Athena it's made in Spain. I've never heard of this year, but I"m sure that there are many more that I am not aware of out there in the world. I was trying to do some research on it and I'm finding next to nothing. E-bay has some on there but not much, wrong country of orgin, nor the Athena type. A forum or two has them mentioned but they were dated from '06 stating they were hard to find in the USA, sold only outside of the USA?, & maybe out of business? I dunno I guess I"m just curious on the deal I got tonight 12 balls for .98 @ from the local thrift store.
So did I do well? I'm sure I did because of the type of yarn it is it's gotta be close to $3+ a ball perhaps?

It's kinda neat looking texture. It's got dark burgundy, the yarn itself is a fine corkscrew wave to it with the lil lumps every 2in similar a boucille. I'd post a pic but my camera isn't very good for small, fine, close up pics like that.
I also found 2 skeins priced tonight for .24 ea! Just plain jane but for .24 what the heck KWIM? And I found some of that Red Heart Baby Econo for like .64 for 2-3 skeins of that. I like the econo stuff and I haven't seen it @ Wallyworld in over 2yrs.

hi 3snugglebunnies I am not familiar with Pingouin yarns but it
does sound to me like you really got a deal. The last time I
priced yarn it was three dollars and some cnets almost four
dollars.wow 12 balls 98 cents, that has to be a bargain.

Oh that wasn't the only deal I got either... I was thinking it maybe the best deal seeing the quality of yarn it is it's gotta be several dollar a 50g ball.
I got a 7oz skein of Red Heart w/ some additional white yarn wrapped around it so it looks a bit lopsided for .24, two partial baby econo skeins for .24, a full skein of baby dcono + red heart soft baby for .94, a hodge podge of baby econo + soft baby .64, 2 big skeins of Bernat baby boucile + 1 skein of baby Red Heart for $1.54.
