So I was looking for this product. The product i'm looking for is not available here in philippines that's why I decided to order from Ebay philippines. Fortunately, there were LOTS of them being sold online..but they're super expensive. But there was a suggestion on the bottom page of INTERNATIONAL sellers who sells the same item..but a lot cheaper. I was just about to buy the product i'm looking for when my mother suddenly said that Philippine Postal Office will charge me TWICE THE AMOUNT of the product i'll buy. Because for the main reason of being corrupt. In my case, the product costs P758. The shipping is free. But my mother told me they'll charge me P2000+ for the product. Which means i'll pay P758 for the product itself but I should pay separately to them. I really want that thing so much and they are selling it in ebay international a lot cheaper than ebay.ph. For those Filipinos who ordered successfully in Ebay, mind telling me how to escape the evil clutches of Philippine postal office??

OMG!!! Is that true??? If it is then I'm screwed! I just ordered something from ebay as well. I also ordered it from ebay international since it's not available here in the Philippines. I still haven't got it yet coz I think it's still in-transit. But it's really unfair and corrupt if they would charge us TWICE the amount! I mean, what do they have to do to deserve such amount? Gosh I hope it weren't true. Do you know someone who have actually experienced this?

BTW, which city are you from? I'm from Lapulapu. I just wonder if the pay-twice thing is applicable to ALL postal offices here in the Philippines.

Hi keinah, I just got off the phone from my friend who knows about Import-Export processes in the Philippines (I guess I got panicked when I read your post and so I tried to research the truth about the paying-twice thing, hehehe). He said that NO, you don't need to pay any amount to Phil Post in order to get your item since you already paid for that service to your seller. You would only pay a certain amount IF your package is sent through courier services (such as FedEx, LBC, DHL, JRS, etc) and would have to pass through Customs first. You would then have to hire a broker and pay for duties and taxes in order to release the item. But if your item is only shipped via Postal Services, then you don't have to pay them anything but gratitude. Anyway, once I get the package that I ordered from ebay Int'l, I'll let you know if they (Phil Post) asked me for any payment.

I'm not actually sure of it? But my question is why do we need Phil. Postal Office for you don't need their service for that because it will not be send through post office. Ebay has an option how you will get those products after all they are not imported goods right?

I'm planning to buy from Ebay international, not ebay philippines. Because the item i'm looking for in ebay.ph is really expensive. That's why I decided to order in Ebay international because it was a lot cheaper. I'm asking for an advice how I can escape the service of philippine postal office..
