This weekend I was at the camper and my DIL and I went to a rummage sale. At the sale were Stampin Up rubber stamps which I use for my card making. Well the sets normally sell anywhere from $12 to $22....these were all marked $2, $3, $4.....I bought 20 sets. I still can't believe I bought all of them! I'll use everyone too. Have you ever hit a sale and bought more crafting supplies than you ever dreamed of? I'll spend today trying to find room for them in my craft room. But I am sooooo excited!

LMAO! I so know what you mean and I have the Ebay trail to prove it. I actually found bead and jewelry making stuff at a rummage sale on a table where you could fill a paper bag for $5. I walked out with two whole bags of beads wire, books, tool everything to get started, which was something I had wanted to do but since I didn't know if I would like it did want to spend a lot of money on. Now I have everything to do it, love it and just the books alone would have cost me close to $50 dollars each as there where 6 of them. I also bought two lawn garbage bags full of material for $2 each such a bargain then got home and realized what I had actually done! I have sold a lot of the material on Ebay the stuff that was either more then I could ever use of that print odd items I didn't like. I also have been making and selling the jewelry so I made my money back on that as well. I think my husband might have killed me if I hadn't he hates my obsession with crafts though this time he came home with a huge box of colored glass for his stain glass making so he couldn't say a whole lot to me,but you should have seen us trying to find places to put it all.

How exciting. I know you had to have a ball buying the rubber stamps. I get a little crazy when I go in Walmart and find all the yarn and plastic canvas. I use to buy pattern books once in awhile and they were fun to through to see if there was anything new. Love a new challenge. A friend gave me tons of patterns, yarn and plastic canvas last year. She was tired of making crafts so I inherited all her supplies. Haven't been through it all yet to see what's there. Like you, I will need to figure out where to store all the supplies since my craft room is pretty loaded with yarn on one side of the room.
Have fun,
carolbee

You and my daughter with the yarn! She crochets...she has so much that she was kind of disgusted with herself. But I found this website where they need things donated to different organizations ....crafts in particular. So she is now making two foot by two foot baby blankets. They are donated to an organization that gives them to parents that lose a newborn...to bury them in....it's sad but something they need.

YES! Oh my, yes! Years ago when I was into knitting, crocheting, sewing, and so forth, I ended up getting a part time job just to pay for all my supplies! Seriously! I would buy everything I needed for a project and put the bag in the closet. Without exaggeration, I had enough projects going in a month to fill a full closet, top to bottom. Thank goodness a computer came into my life and I don't craft like that anymore, ha!

Wow, awesome deal there jillhill! Sometimes the best surprises come when we're not looking for them. And just think, when you're done or don't want them anymore, you can certainly triple your money on Ebay. Good for you and happy crafting! Do you sell your cards online?

Oh yea... I used to go nuts every time I walked into a Michaels or AC Moores. I have so much "stuff" sitting around in my crafting room, I could probably open my own little craft supply shop
I have tons of glass beads for jewelry, soap and candle making supplies, yarn, rubber stamps, polymer clay, etc.
Both Michaels & AC Moore opened shops within 5 minutes of where I work, and it became dangerous for me to bring my debit card to work with me. Now I only sneak over there once a week and I always ask for gift cards to both stores for my birthday and the holidays.
You made a nice score on those rubber stamp sets...enjoy them!

I went to a car boot sale once and there was a stall there which had loads of things like card, cutters, rubber stamps and i was just like you i got most of the stuff on the stall for next to nothing. The reason they were selling all their things were to clear all the wifes craft things as they were moving abroad. The best bit is they put all the other craft things they had left in my car as i was about to leave, the wife and the husband came and said they didnot want to take the craft things home so please would i take them off their hands,i said of course i will.Just like you i found it hard to find the room,i never turn any bargains down.

I will start looking at garage sales once I get money again. I am into soap making and making bath salts. I am looking for a second microwave so I can start making my soap. I have a microwave, but from what I have been told it is not a good idea to use the microwave for every day use because the food will smell like soap. I wish I could go on a shopping spree.

My mom use to go nuts whenever there was a sale at "House of Fabrics". I would be bored out of my mind and wish she would go to another fabric store (I can't remember the name right now) because it had a kids corner with phones that had prerecorded music and conversations.
Now that I cross stitch I make sure to bring an extra buck and shop at the store where there is a "kids cage" so my daughter can bounce on the trampoline and play in the pool of balls and not be bored.
