Do the credits for unresolved discussions get frozen?

A discussion is regarded as unresolved when no more responses are being received; right? When we choose the best response among the available responses, it gets resolved or in other words, closed, doesn't it?
I just wanted to know what happens to the credit earned through those discussions that are marked unresolved?

You earn for your own activity regardless of whether you post on a discussion where the Best Response has been awarded or not.
Discussions here are never 'closed' and can go on and on even after the BR has been chosen by the original poster.
A discussion is 'unresolved' when the BR has not yet been awarded.

It is an interesting question that I would like resolved. Just what should we do if we start a discussion and get NO replies? Or worse still, we get nonsense replies that really have nothing to do with the original post (I've had a few of those!). Or when there just isn't a "best response" or so many that we can't fairly judge which is best?

Nonsense response should be reported and they will be removed. We do not earn for posting garbage.
If a discussion that you start receives no responses then PM a friend with the link asking them to respond.

Nothing's wrong with your unresolved discussions. You don't have to choose best response for your discussions if you really don't find any one of them answer or resolve your problem. Mylot is not like questions and answers site (for example: answerslands.com). Your solved discussions by choosing the best answer for it doesn't mean those discussions had closed. Other member still could earn by respond to those discussions and you still could earn by comment on every responses. There is no term "close" for discussion here.
Unresolved discussions won't affected to your earning. Your earning from unresolved discussions will be remain as long as your unresolved discussion is not deleted by the admin. So, don't worry, your earning will not decrease just because you didn't choose best response for your discussions. If you think you there is response that satisfy you or answer your questions, then choose best response will be better. This mean that you appreciate what others have done for you.
