Want to buy a Toyota used car

If i purchase used toyota car. what are the advantage,disadvantage i'm gonna face it? who is the best from to buy a used car private party or dealership? isn't important.
I need more advice. because this is the my first own car so i don't have any idea about this. how to check features,mileage and condition.

i agree with ArmaniFire. Older Toyota Models have better quality. I say that because i myself purchase a used Corolla. It is a 1996 Corolla, purchase it in 2008.The car was in good shape and for the last 2 years it never stalled or gave a headache to think that at time i purchase it the mileage was almost 250K. The average life span of Toyota is around 20 years! Recently, i was bumped by another car on the rear bumper. No scratch or dent but the screw of the license plate did left a hole. The garage manager told me had my car been a newer model, it'll probably be a wreck. My friends are really surprise that is really well maintained. Well yeah, it was maintained pretty well by the first owner. I actually got it from a private party. Have your own mechanic do the check.
