The second test match between India and Sri Lanka started yesterday. The official attendance at the start of the second test was 25 spectators!! Yes, 25!! It really seems crazy to me why they schedule a test match to start on a Monday and have it go for 5 working weekdays!! At least they could have planned to have a Saturday or Sunday in between. Really the boards are reckless and clueless when it comes to getting their schedules right!! What do you say on this? Cheers! Ram

A lifeless pitch totally in favor of batsman ,so there would obviously be no interest at all.Cant blame the spectators, the pitch is to be blamed, i think if test cricket has to survive such lifeless tracks should be penalized .Whether they are subcontinent pitches or outside. Nothing but batting records will be made here .

@ram_cv- you are right my friend , the match played during weekdays along with lifeless pitch is the reason of people not coming in to watch the match , we as cricket fans understand it , i am surprised how cricket boards with so called cricket experts cant get this point . @hiccup - People come to see competitive cricket my friend not this one sided match totally in favor of batsman .Its good being a die hard cricket fan but who would want to see a match whose result is known which will be probably a draw and waste the money and time , and about opening the gates and let everyone walk in free , i am sure they must have thought about that but security issues must have come .

its not just about the schedule dude, its about the match conditions also. Look none is gona watch a batsman you know literally thump a bowler everytime. everyone knows there is not much that is going to happen in favor of the bowlers. conditions have to be ideal and they could have started the test on wednesday you know you for sure know the match is gona go for 5 days

Probably that is why India decided to play without any main line bowler :) Cheers! Ram

It is because of the nature of pitch. Sri Lanka public do not much like cricket that could be one reason and rain is another reason. Now matches are covered live on TV and most of them are watching them from there. Indian public would definitely turn up in huge number if it is played in India. What ever the condition of pitch was pathetic in the 2nd test..
