Why i am asking this question is because usually when i tried to install this XP operating system then it needs at least 1hour 20 Minutes to install. Is it a original time or else my system taking too much of time to install? so i want clarification on this.

It depends a little on the computer itself: faster computer, faster install, but I've installed so much times windows XP and usually doesn't take more than 1 hour. In the most cases 45 minutes was enough for a complete install...

well it depends upon system to system.. My Desktop which was having 256 MB RAM was taking 54-56 minute to be install after upgraded RAM it takes lesser time.. while my other desktop of 2 GB RAM and C2D takes 32-34 minutes to be install. more than 1 hour is really a big time.. check your disk for scratches and also check your hard disk for corruption..

Well it depends on your system configuration. If you have a faster system, then it will take less time and for slower system, it takes more time to install. Well in my system,XP takes around 15-20 minutes to install and Windows 7 takes around 10 minutes to install(even though its far heavier than XP). While installing XP,the setup did show 1 hour few minutes remaining but after a few seconds, the progress bar speed up and the remaining time get changed to few minutes remaining. So, check your system configuration. If its old, then it will definitely take time to install.

It depends whether you're doing a regular format or a quick format. If you're doing a regular format, it depends on the size of your hard drive, the bigger the drive, the longer it'll take. Windows XP does not know how to format quickly, so that's probably why it's taking so long for you.
