Thanks for the good post: you seem to be echoing my past experiences. I can suggest you these tips that have worked for me: 1. Challenge your thoughts: frequently check if your thoughts are based on real facts or they are just fanciful. 2. Maintain a confident positive attitude (despite negative thoughts); often think of all the positive things you did recently or in the past, about your achievements, etc. 3. Develop awareness of your surroundings and about you: Breathing consciously or deeply helps cut off the train of thoughts and brings you in the present moment. 4. Start doing physical exercises and meditation regularly: No need to find any formal guidance: Stretch and twist your body in different ways and breathe deeply, for meditation just try concentrating on breath (initially start with 5-10 minutes). Learn simple One breath meditation at this blog: http://mindyourawareness.wordpress.com/ 5. This is really Cute way to train your mind and get rid of stress quickly: Try listening to brainwave entrainment audios for relaxation; within half hour you will find the difference. If you don't know what it is, just read some articles in the above blog and try free samples at the site: http://www.mind-awakening-techniques.com/ 6. Read motivational books and talk to good friends

I guess everyone has a different idea of what he thinks is a bad thought. Most of my "bad thoughts" these last years have to do with what to do with loneliness. It´s normal because I live alone and many days I only talk at mylot (in a language that is not my own) or with the dog (in my own language, but not my dog´s native speech). What are you disturbing thoughts? Can you deal with them? I can: they have become part of my life.

I encounter that so many times before. Like what if my 2 years old son got hit my a truck, if my mom got robbed and killed... thing like that. I started experiencing this kind of thought during I was experiencing a really bad experience that hurt me so bad. It's like having this thought makes me realized that I am so afraid to experience the pain all over again. how can I handle if someone so dear to me disappear right before my eyes? how to I handle the loss, the pain? Sometimes thinking about this stuff makes me cry. but I can't really help it, especially when they are far away from me. I know its a bad thing.. but I really can help it, it's just flashing into my mind. What I do is too shake myself up. I really have to hit myself (but not that hard ^.^) and then pray to God to please spare me on experiencing another heartache. Not my love ones, not with people who are so dear to me. because I don't think I can handle another. ^.^

It depends on what kind of bad thoughts. If I was having a lot of really violent types of thoughts I'd probably seek a therapist and talk to them about it. But regular aggravation can be dealt with through things like meditation. I'm not very good at it, though. I have a hard time concentrating and getting my mind to slow down and stop thinking so much. But I hear it works for a lot of people. My friend has started it, she tries to do in in 10 minute sessions I think, and then I guess she'll try to naturally mediate longer and longer as time goes on. Sometimes I play violent video games haha, it makes me feel better most of the time. Or exercise can help me, too.

There are a few things that you can do and however you are not alone with these type of thought disturbing thoughts. There are a lot of people that suffer from this same kind of problem but they are not brave enough to talk about it. It would be due to many different problems and sometimes it is just a lack of sleep. If these things don't work it would be best to see a contact a doctor. I have had these type of thoughts before but it had a lot to do with depressing and was also some medication that I was taking. If you ever have thoughts of hurting yourself call a crisis hotline write away. The mind has the ability to think multiple things at the same time – it is what makes human intelligence possible, creative and dynamic. Try this : Develops out of an obsession with your fear and anxiety – you search for more strange things. You explore the rabbit hole to see how strange it can get. Constant introspection locks you inside your own thoughts – disconnection follows. This is the root of depersonalization but that will be covered in a later show. Too much introspection distracts you from the outside world and prolongs your anxiety. Tired mind: Let your mind think what it wants it does not matter and it will not hurt you. Given too much importance your thoughts will dominate you even as you try to do other task. Do not shy away from your scary thoughts – this will only help to create a greater focus since you are trying too hard to push them out of your mind. Do not make the mistake that you are defective – you are mentally fatigued and need rest. Think what you like – you are a good person and will not act on these disturbing thoughts. The mind is powerful and can produce this in anyone at anytime – it’s just that you dwell on it. You can’t always control your thoughts – but if you take away their potential to scare you and to create anxiety then that is the key to recovery. Do not be dominated and terrified by thoughts – they are only thoughts and cannot hurt you. Remember – you will not act on your thoughts – they are just thoughts. Acceptance, letting go, patience, exercise and a healthy diet are all keys to recovery.
