Why is weed looked down upon in society??

If marijuana has medicinal purposes, meaning that it's virtually little to no harm to the body if it was approved for that... furthermore no one ever acts like a fiend high (well not that I know)... selling TVs, stealing and whatever they can do or none of that. Also... there's no charge for driving high... there's no Driving While High charge you can get. I know that it may not the best thing in the world, but it calms people down. More than "rile" them up in order to get into trouble or something like that. I've never heard of anyone dying of overdose over weed either or nothing like that. I know that it can't be legalized everywhere because then people that are ACTUALLY drugs doing all of the above such as crack cocaine, crystal meth, pills and any of that... would probably try to be stupid enough to fight for the legalization of other illegal drugs. The most that you can get in trouble for with weed here is like possession (misdemeanor) or something like intent to distribute which may get you into big trouble... but I really don't see why weed is bad.. if taxed it may could bring the economy out of its rut.. who knows?? lol just a high thought.
