Should women be allowed in the military?

Do you believe females should be allowed in the military, in fighting roles? I personally believe they deserve all the right to be in the military, a lot of people will say that they only belong in support roles and not the front line, but I disagree. They have the right just like men do. I read that a lot of women did fairly well in the Second World War, so I don't see why they should prevent them. Thoughts?

As a female soldier I believe that we should be able to have more of a role in combat! Once entering the military especially during the time of war me and women alike have an understanding that there is a good chance of being deployed and putting your life on the line. Women enter the military for the same reasons as their male counter parts, we get the same training and treatment during training...but why can't we fight on the front lines?? I believe that one day it will happen.

as an ex military female, can only say that if a woman chooses this as her career there are no reasons why she should not enter into a military carrer... I believe that all young people, no matter their gender should be given the facts concerning the fighting roles that they may have to undertake and experience... It should be revealed to all that in a war situation there are no rules, no humanity,, and no sensitivity to man woman or child.. Male serving members have to contend with seeing the mutilated bodies of civilians which includes women and children, and hear and witness stories of personal violations of the same., because a woman wears a uniform it does not mean she will be exempt from seeing or in the event of wounding and capture will not be spared them either. In pre roman days,in the uk and other places within the world., women where soldiers of great renown, it is culture and societies that exempted them, not ability... like males, the choices should be open to the individual, as well of serious awareness of what they are/could be expected to do in performance of their duties and training... It would be a blessed world where these choices and conflicts would cease. and honour all of those who give their lives in the service of their countries friends/families etc... The bible says Greater love has no one than this., than to lay down one's life for his friends best wishes x

well as far as rights and performace is concerned. you are right.. they too have the rights and can perform well as men do; but wat if they are captured alive and mutilated.. a man can bear it... but wht about a woman when the enemy soldiers take an inhuman way to avenge frm the enemies?? hope u understand wat i mean to say.. that will kill humanity.. rather than only soldiers at war..

I really do believe that women should be allowed in the military. Women have just as much the right to be in the military nowadays as men do. I also think that we can do just as good of a job as men can.

I think women can do well in fighting roles. As far as women equality, my government teacher always said as an example. "Women who want equality have to get both sides that come with it. Put them in the draft and the front line. Is there blood no better to spill then a mans?" He was pretty harsh about all American policies but he was a good teacher. Anywayz I think women can do well in battle.
