kids are not allowed to enter in the net cafes

One of the kids in the neighborhood asked me if whats really wrong with the internet cafes why he's not allowed by his grandma to have research and go for online games...i did not even bother to answer his question at first, instead I asked him what were his grandmas reason of not allowing him to use the net. The grandma seems so naive with the belief that internet is harmful to the intellectual growth of her grandson. So she will just direct the kid to look for books and find out answers for his assignments or other research tasks in school. I wonder how could the grandma behave that way. She must instead let the child surf the net but should also be [patient enough to guide her grandsons activity in the net. Anyway, it could be easily done because the cafe is just beside their house.
