Hello home, I can understand about your fear, but, maybe your doctor knows what she is doing. She won't give you the medicine if it could harm the baby. but,if you really feel scared taking it,i guess you are right for taking the alternatives. You can go with the natural juices and water,it is better then.

Besides, your baby is about to due (if i may not mistaken) The first tri-mester is to be considered as the critical stage since the baby is on it's developing stage. But in your case,i believe the doctor is very confident to give you the medicine coz there is nothing to worry with regards to the baby (since the baby is now fully developed and is about to due) My sister is 4 months pregnant when she undergo with an appendicitis operation, and she has to take antibiotics. Thanks God,her son was born normal and is now 9 years old and a very smart kid who excel at school.

yes coz a lot of my friends dont agree with medicine as they thought that the only medicine a pregnant women can take is only vitamins which is wrong as we also need some medicine to get rid of other illnesses like infection and etc to clear our body to make safe for the baby. thats why i also got paranoid whenever they say not to take it as it might going to harm but i guess i really need to follow my doctors advice besides they know about it. i just wonder if other pregnant women also take medicine for cough and if theres side effect when their baby born.

When I was pregnant, I also had a little cough and flu, though it was really not that bad. I didn't take any medicine as I was also afraid that it might affect my baby. What I did was just to drink lots and lots of water, I suppose I even took more than 8 glasses a day. I didn't mind going to the bathroom from time to time, I just want my baby to be safe. I suggest that you just do the same. By the way, to relieve of itchy throat, you can just make a calamansi juice, with very little amount of sugar, in a hot water. This is really effective for me.

yes i normally take calamansi juice before but i cant just depend to it specially now that im going to give birth any moment, my mother said i need to rid my cough soon coz if im going to be in labor and still have cough it will be very difficult for me specially the pushing time while coughing thats why we went to doctor for sooner remedy. i also have itchy throat thats why i cant control and it makes my tummy hard and painful whenever i cough.

Take note that the calamansi juice should be hot. You can do this for at least two times a day. If you can do without sugar, much better. If you don't want the calamansi juice, I suggest that you just drink more water and then urinate as much as possible.

Did you tell your doctor about your condition. You should have asked him if it was safe for you to take the medicine even if your pregnant. Read the label on the medicine, does it say something about being safe for pregnant women or not. Why dont you try the natural herbs instead of you are really afraid to take medications. You should be careful on the medicines you drink during this time.

I'm not yet a mother but I think having phlegm and cough is not good for pregnant women. When you cough, there is pressure in you tummy area. Why didn't your doctore give you natural medicines like lagundi? I suggest you to take lots of water to help you get better. I hope you good luck.

Be careful in taking medicines... You might try gargling warm water with salt it can help loosen those phlegms. Water with honey can also help. If you can make some ginger tea it's better for your cough.

You cannot drink any medicines without doctor's prescription. You might harm the baby inside, You know regrets, always comes at the end of the consequences. If it's really disturbing, see your O.B.

Dont worry about it. It's natural, our body is just adopting our environment. My body has finished adopting so my cough and flu are gone. Dont rely on medicine ATM. Let your body adopt on itself to avoid immunities with medicine, which in the long run can cause more trouble.
