Local Human Resource Agencies: are they helpful to the companies and jobseekers?

Would you prefer to apply directly to the company you want to work with and apply to each of the company you want every time you have chosen a company you want to work with or do you just apply in a Local Human Resource Agency one time and they will be the one who will look for a company for you?
For the Companies out there, is it really easier and effective to just go for Human Resource agencies for massive hiring or it is more effective if you conduct the hiring with the company itself?
Please share your thoughts guys for better understanding of some job seekers out there.
For myself i would want to go to each of the company and be directly hired there. Some local Human Resource Agencies still get a cut from your salaries if you are working with them and not directly to the company you are working with. some of them would also give you a contractual status which really is a labor practice now.
There would be no growth for you if you are in this situation. If i own a company too i would just go for my own hiring of employees so that i would be able to really know each of my employees and also be able to directly give them benefits instead of giving the agencies extra bonuses.

There are lots of human resource consultants in India and most of the companies find proper candidates through those consulatans becuase the big companies don't have much time to waste on finding the candidates. If you update your resume in a job portal in India, you will get four to five calls in the same day. You will also get so many emails regarding job openings in the same city from consultants.
I moved to USA one month ago and now I am searching for a job here. It is not easy as it works in India. I have uploaded my resume in a few job sites and I didn't even recieve a single call. Now, I am manually searching for openings and applying directly for it. I think that is how it works in America. I guess there are not many job consulatants here.

daliaj I am in the U S, an American and we have Human resources here too, but the big problem is that there are thousands out of work here and not that many job openings so the hunt for a job can go r eally slowly sometimes taking months as we are still in a recession. big companies are still laying off people instead of hiring. So yes there are job consultants but first and foremost we need the jobs to send people to, and if they are not there a zillion job consultants will not help. Good luck here. My own son was out of work for a yr and a half, and by networking with an old friend he got his job in one day.So if you have any friends here in the U S see if they have friends who are looking for employees as that might be a quick way to get a job.I do wish you the best as its no fun being out of work.

aarolnfyzeon I would think it would be better for a company to interview applicants face to face without Human resources getting involved. After all the company is the one who will want to know if say myself is qualifid for the job I am seeking with them. I always went straight to the place where I wanted to apply and not to human resources at all.I think both the person hiring and the person applying will want to know more about each other. the applicant will need to know if he or she has the proper credentials for the job and the hiring person will want to know it this person has the skills to fulfill his job offer. Face to face they can learn more about each other and both form their own opinions.

I never apply my to human resource agencies. Usually, every company has their own human resources department even for small company. They prefer to get their employee by their self rather than use agencies. I think human resources agencies for company is not usual for companies. This kind of agencies is usually for providing housemaid or providing worker for abroad.

Maybe for those who are seeking for job for the first time and/or those who really find it difficult to find for a job on their own, these agencies helps.
Problem is, these agencies usually take a lot of cut from their pay.
But, if the client of these agencies have a good heart, they could absorb these workers into their company. Like here where I work, two or three of our janitors came from an agency but this year, they were absorbed so they get their pay in full.

Like everything else in this world, these agencies have their function. Human Resources agencies try to connect companies and potential employees but what happens is that they are large beauracrcies and as a result, one gets bogged down with procedure, long lines, and anonymity. I also prefer dealing directly with companies. But sometimes it is simply not possible because large companies that have a demand for many employees will find profit margins low if they have to do the direct hiring of their employees and therefore save money by outsourcing their hiring. The best advice I can give you for those Human Resource Agencies is patience. Good Luck.

agencies can be a great help for those first time job seekers just to have an experience, but i never tried to work with agencies as i apply straight to the company. i used to work with bank before and i felt sorry for those of my other work mate whose under agency coz my salary as compare to them are half. so i earn 100% from the company then they can only earn 50% to 70% coz its the agency who will pay them and not directly the company.

Hi dear,
Now the system of hiring professionals to various organisations have variety of choices. You can forward by online registration to direct submission of your CVs to any of the known companies.
If have some direct contacts and openings in specified companies, I think we can directly forward to the HR and wait for the response. Sending CVs through third parties or agencies become common and at the same time, a better qualified is not necessary to wait for them to get a confirmation, he can directly get into it.
In the companay where I am working, is providing cash compensation if we are refer qualified employees to the company. The remuneration which is going to the agencies can be dirverted the currently employed people and it is more advisable.
However, some companies are directly paying to the agencies where as some agencies will collect the their commission from your pocket also. It all depend upon with whom you are dealing with.
Regards,
Thank-s

I can only accept agencies as information providers, If I'm hired successfully, I pay a certain amount of money for the information. I can't tolerate an agency located in the middle of me and my employer, and cut my salary continuously. That's awful. I will rather go to each of the companies and be interviewed though it may be extremely inconvenient.
I believe firmly the more individuals in a relation, the harder to solve problems if they appears.
