Since many days I've been wondering whether cricket is a good sport or not. I think it's not becausse it doesn't give you sufficient exercise with respect to the time required to play a game of it as compared to other games like football, hockey, tennis etc. What do you think? Which sport is better?

I too do not think cricket is a good sport because it allows you to waste lot of time. It draws away your interest from other interesting sports. Because there is lot of money involved there is always a possibility of scam. Then there is a tendency to bet. These are some of the things that makes cricket a bad sport.

I appreciate you response because you introduced a new aspect of sports in this discussion i.e. betting But hey, that goes with every sport. Betting is done on all popular sports. And yes, cricket is a waste of time, I agree.

Any sport is a good sport. You need to have a very high level of fitness to play any sport at the international level. Even a game like golf has professionals who follow stringent fitness regimes. So in that sense I do not see why Cricket or Golf should not be considered a sport. The amount of effort exercised changes from game to game, for e.g. in soccer or hockey it that that 70 to 90 minutes of sustained pace. In test cricket it is fitness to last 5 days sometimes in searing temperatures and some times with a lot of humidity. So in my books cricket is definitely a sport. Cheers! Ram

Yeah, I think you're right. Every sport requires good fitness. There might be some other reason that I don't cricket as compared to other sports.

hi I think it is one of the easiest sports to watch! You picture up summer days sittng in a deck chair just watching them take their turn to play. So yes cricket is much better for the slow relaxed sports viewer but definately football for the excitement x
