Why does my wireless broadband internet lose connection randomly?

July 29, 2010 9:39am CST
Does anyone know why this may be so? It seems everything is going fine then all of a sudden I am disconnected. Then again randomly it will reconnect by itself either 5 mins later or 3 hours later - no specific time really. Any suggestions on what may be the case? Also what can I possibly do about it to stop it from happening.

You are experiencing this problem because your network provider's server is not responding well to your modem.Register your complaint to your network provider, only they can help you solve your problem. It once happened with me also, after registering my complaint they solved my problem within couple of days.Have a nice day parrot2010......

Hi thanks for that I'll see what I can do about it. I'll have to ring them soon it's actually I rubbish company I am with I just found out so I'll be cancelling my service contract with them as a few of my friends have had the same problem with them. The modem I think is fine we've used the same modem somewhere else and it was working fine. They have terrible customer service so I'm not looking forward to this xD

Another reason could be if you have anything else plugged in with your wireless router on the same plug. Sometimes, a sudden surge in one device (such as say, turning on the tv) would drain power to the router, causing you to loose a connection.

I also have experienced this problem, it will working okay when opening my account,it works fine, while staying reading the mail suddenly it fail to access then next operation, says timeout then when retried if fails a couple of times then finally after 15 to 20min it reconnects. I feel bad reporting to the customer service against this problem and asking them to replace a good working modem. I doubt they will come forward doing so. But it is our right to claim for it - however blindly waiting this problem will stop on its own behavior as existed. Happy mylotting.

Well i used to experience the same thing with my broadband internet connection. IT used to stop working suddenly and without any problem and some restore in 5 mins and some time it took up to 1 hour. SO I just contacted the internet providers and they said they have registered my complaint and after that there were no prblems at all! YOu should try contacting them! Thats the best option!
