I played the piano and violin when I was still a little kid. But being a grown up, it is hard to keep up with your hobbies. I haven't been playing any musical instruments since 10 years ago, and I'm enquiring if I should start to re-enact my first passion as a musician lol. So do you guys know how to play any musical instruments? Do tell

I've played the piano and the French horn, recorder and a Norwegian folks instrument called lur. It's like a straight trumpet made of birch bark, quite loud and made for scaring animals and communicating over long distances. I haven't played actively for a while but I always plan to start again :-) The French horn is there, the piano is a bit more difficult, I'd love to have one though.

Hi there! The thing with brass instruments is that once you've had a break you have to use some time to built up your embouchure again, and that's quite boring! Once I get started it's funny, I know, but it's those week with scales and sore lip muscles. Piano is easier, but takes more room. I should start with finding my recorder, that's both easy and can be brought along everywhere.

Hi "Torunn", All you have to do is that first step; just pick it up and start playing and feel the pleasure of your creativity and the satisfaction of your musical accomplishments again. What fun it would be don't you think?

I had the ocasion to learn to play the guitar for free, from a friend of mine, but i refused him, because i was very busy at that time, but after a time, i learned alone a few songs, but i haven`t played from a while, so, maybe i forgot.

Oh,no! You should re-learn to play your guitar. I read somewhere that playing a musical instrument could eventually help you to get a better IQ level

I don't know about he IQ level but it sure helps when it comes to relaxation. For me it is great therapy that helps me deal with this wild and crazy world. I can not imagine a day without music. If there was no music to listen to or play, I think I probably would have lost my mind a long time ago. What about you?

When I was a pupil, I learned to play the flute at school. But I can't say I really know how to play it, because I can play only one song by flute:) I love China

Hi "youless", That's a start. Now all you have to do is learn another song and before you know you will have a bit of a repitoir of music you can play on your flute. How about that? Just think how much enjoyment you would get from it and the pride in yourself to have learned another song. "GO FOR IT"!

Hi lilmuchang. I play guitar and keyboard although i am not that expert. Playing musical instruments does serve as my stress-reliever. Thus, why not go back to your passion of being a musician? I am sure you have not forgotten playing your piece:=) Cheers!

When I was younger (3rd grade) our music teacher taught us to play the ukeul lady and the flute. My family moved away, and I had a different music class and we didn't have any music instruments in our new school. So, without the instruments (and my parents never had the money to allow me to play in band) so I never touched a musical instrument again until I was in college. I then learned how to play the flute and the piano, but once my music class was over I never had the opportunity or availability of practicing on a piano. I forgot all that I had learned. Now, I would really love to play the guitar :)

Hi "buggles...", Soooooooo, why don't you?. You can still learn. My suggestion would be to get a inexpensive "UKELE" with the fingering chart that usually comes with it and in your limited but spare time you can learn to play it. They really don't cost that much and if you only had an hour a day to learn I can assure you, you would be able play some basic songs in no time. The relaxation and satisfaction you would get will make you feel like a new person. TRY IT YOU MIGHT LIKE IT!

I can play the lyre. I want to learn how to play piano, drums and guitar. I want to have my own musical instrument at home so that when I feel stress I just play a drum. They said that when you play drum when you are stress you can relieve the pressure and you will be feeling fine after. If someone will give me a guitar or drum set, I have a feeling that i will learn it on my own.

Hi "grecychunny", You know you can get an inexpensive set of children's drums with all the goodies as a start and when you get stressed you can bang on it and relieve the stress. The set looks just like a real set of drums but it made for children and not as sturdy as a standard set of drums but I'm sure it will work just fine.

hi lilmchang oh do go back to your musical passion as that is a talent that will stand you in good stead all your life, I do wish I had learned to play the piano as a child, now I still do not know how and I love music so much. specially classical music like mozarts compositions. who knows maybe someone might ask you to play the piano at some affair when they need someone who can do it, and nobody else is available. its just a great talent to have in my own opinion.

I used to play the piano upon my mom's insistence since she wants us to be great pianist or organist like my cousins but unfortunately, my siblings and I are not that musically inclined. Did try to do the same thing to my kids? Guess what? Like mother, like daughters! Well, you know what they say "The apple won't fall far from the tree."

But do you like music still anyway? You know you don't have to be a "GREAT" musician just play well enough for your own enjoyment. How about that?

I never had any formal training, but I can play a little bit of piano by ear. I tried the acoustic guitar a few times, but it hurt my hand pretty bad that I ended up giving up before I could really learn. Also tried the flute, clarinet, and drums but didn't get to a point where I'm half-good, LOL. I'm a very musical person, just never had any training or anyone pushing me to do better.

I have been playing the piano since I was 8 years old. I fell in love with it when I was young and can play pretty okay I guess lol. And now I'm 18 so that's exactly 10 years. I still play it, I know some people who just gave up after a few years but I kept going, now I can boast about my piano worth 5 grand :D

When I was about 10 years old, I used to play piano. But now, I don't even know how to play it. However, I always wanted to learn on how to play guitar and violin.

Hi "yvette89, So why don't you persue your dream? You can start out with a little inexpensive ukele and work up to a child's guitar. They don't cost too much and you would be surprised at the music you can get ot of them. Just think how much satisfaction you could get from it, making your own music, not to mention the stress relief.

I can play the piano and guitar. I learned the piano formally until grade 7 and then I just stopped because I just lost the interest learning piano for the sake of exams. After I stopped, I continued playing the piano doing songs that I like and learning to play by ear; actually, I am quite good at playing by ear now. On the other hand, I never really learned guitar formally - I actually picked it up from friends from church because I thought it was a handy musical instrument to learn as it is very portable instrument (easy to carry and bring anywhere). I am reasonably good at strumming now, but plucking is a little hard to master though. I am quite interested in learning the violin but I haven't really got to it yet....perhaps I should learn it if I have the time and chance in the future....

I have always wanted to learn how to play the piano and the violin. But learning those things need money which we do not have. Eventually, I never had the chance to learn. I ended up learning the guitar. Well, now that I am older, I still have this dreams of learning. But sad to note, I do not have the time to learn it considering that I am already busy with work. I think you should ignite your passion to music once again.
