What are some major mistakes that the WWE has made?

Clearly, Everyone is going to say "WWE going PG." But PG is no reason for bad writing. Not pushing new talents earlier than they have. WWE's in a panic right now, and it's because a lot of people are heading out the door and calling it quits on their career, or out with injury, or on limited schedules. The WWE wasn't prepped for this, which is why guys like Sheamus, Swagger, and McIntyre are getting the uber pushes of a lifetime without us knowing anything about them, or them developing who they are in the ring. I'd also say keeping wrestlers on a short creative leash is making the product stale. Some of the best feuds of the past 5 years have been good because the people involve were given creative control. Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels, Michaels vs Flair, Foley vs Edge, Michaels vs the Undertaker, in all of these cases the talents had a say over how the storyline, promos, and booking went down. That's not usual in the WWE these days. Most of the promos are verbatum from some script written by people who've never wrestled a match in their life, and most of the angles are written by hollywood rejects in denial over being a part of a wrestling company. This has stifled the WWE's ability to let talents grow. Guys like Steve Austin and the Rock didn't shoot up the ranks because they did what the boys in the back told them. Austin was pretty much hired into the WWF fresh from WCW unemployment and a great ECW run with the Stone Cold Character pretty much already fabricated. Stifling creativity isn't going to let a wrestler learn who they are on the mic, who they should be, or if they should be speaking at all. Ditching managers was another big mistake in my opinion. Guys like Shelton Benjamin could have been so much more if they were given a mouthpiece. Just look at Lesnar and Heyman. Brock wouldn't be half the monster he was without Paul E.s glowing endorsement and hype up lip service. What are other mistakes the WWE has made besides that?

one of the big mistakes i think the wwe made is allowing triple h to win the wwe world title so many times. also i think hes over-hyped when compared to other wrestlers. i guess i'm just comparing him to past wrestlers but i still think hes won the world title too much being she happens to be the son in law of Vince McMahon. nobody can convince me that didn't play a role in him winning the title so many times. he might even beat ric flairs record of 16 time world champion by the time his wrestling career is over.

I agree with you some what. I do like Triple H as a talent but him being married to Stephanie definetly gives him a free pass as champ. I can actually see him beating flairs record especially with flair over in TNA now.

Here's a list of examples that I believe WWE has dropped the ball with: - NXT. It began with bags of potential and could have been amazing. Yet it was obvious by the conclusion of Season 1 that it was only a matter of time before WWE pulled the plug. Only a handful of rookies have actually showed a spark of entertainment (too many of them are generic for my taste) and the show itself has been nothing more than a joke. - Hot-shotting undeserving talent. The fact that Sheamus is a King of the Ring and two-time world champion merely dimishes the prestige of both those titles considering where he is now and how little he has actually done during his time in WWE. Another example is Jack Swagger, who went from charismatic Kurt Angle 2.0 World Heavyweight Champ to floundering around in the mid-card. - Not building talent enough. John Morrison is a prime example. He has incredible in-ring ability, a great gimmick of parkour, a major hit with the fans and a near flawless superstar appearance. Sure, he's no Steve Austin on the mic, but he's over enough to be champion of some sort by now. Too bad WWE have yet to realise this. - Overly-scripted promos. Promos nowadays feel too forced and unnatural because not enough talent are being given room to be creative with them. Because most promos are scripted by writers rather than being handed over to the wrestlers to allow a more personal touch, we have five or six guys uttering the same, rehashed promo. - Lack of atmosphere. Remember WrestleMania of yesterday, and how it actually felt like "The Grandest Stage of Them All"? Unfortunately, I haven't had this feeling since WM 24, and this year's WrestleMania seems likely to continue that trend of recent WMs of being generally dull and uninspiring. I blame this mainly on bad booking and lack of proper build up or organization on the writers' behalf.

I feel they need to back one of the Pros who has stuck with WWE for a long time. It's nice to see that Kane is again Champion. Similarly, guys like Matt Hardy, Christian, Mark Henry and John Morrison need to be in main events more often. I also feel that Chavo needs a push because he is too good a wrestler to be held back. The matches he had with Hornswoggle were so entertaining. The Nexus is one good thing to happen for WWE, but i feel that they need to have a solid Heel to be their leader who is behind all that the nexus has done so far. There need to be managers for those who are not good on the mike. So i agree with you on that.

Not providing proper healthcare, Pressure to take steriods, not taking care of the wrestlers. They would make the wrestlers cut themselves open during matches so they would bleed. apparently blood = more money and views for wrestling. i could care less about blood thats not entertaining at all. wrestling is all staged its a joke
