I am thinkng of getting a new dog. This time i wanted to be of a higher breed. Cute will not be staying any longer now. We'll be lucky if he can stay for 3 more years. What will be the best breed that can also be trusted. I've seen on tv that a dog was shoot by his owner when he bites his owners 2 year old son.

i own many dogs but the best breed for me is LABRADOR RETRiEVER ;) this breed is very intelligent, affectionate, playful and has a good temperament which makes it a good family dog. Aggression against other dogs and people is very very rare to a well socialized labrador retriever :)

Labs are the greatest but ask yourself what you want first. if need a guard dog then go for the German Shepherds. i would really recommend Labs though, they're the best for me.

I had a mongrel. A lab/retrievr cross. I loved him! he was great! always up to some sort of mischief though! I am also a fan of boxers and rotties. Im also thinking of getting another dog..Its such a huge drain on your emotions when they pass away though :( If I do choose to get another dog I think it will be a chocolate lab or a husky!

Well, "a dog higher than Cute" and "a breed that can be trusted" is not enough to decide between hundred of breeds. There must be some other criteria the new dog should met, like - you want a guard dog or a companion; - the dog should live with small children or other animals; - do you have time and disposition to brush their coat dayly or less often? - how much time do you have to exercise the new dog? - is there any particular type of dog you like? (long muzzle or short muzzle, friendly look or fierce look, hound-like ears or erected ears, and so on) You could try a breed selector, there are a lot on the internet, like this one: http://dogtime.com/matchup/start Yet, if you decide to a breed or another, you should choose carefully the breeder, to buy a healthy and balanced puppy. In my oppinion, any dog can be trusted, as long as he was raised responsible. And I'm not talking about food and warm place to live, but about taking all the time needed to teach them to behave.

The most recommended breeds as of today are the golden retriever and labrador retriever. I have a golden retriever and they are easily to be train, friendly and well behaved. I just want you to know that it doesn't matter what breed of dogs do you have as long as you are a responsible owner. They are animals and they have this thing called animal instinct. If they feel that there is something wrong or threat, they will fight for there survival.

all dogs need training and plenty of attention and love from an early age to ensure a faithful, friendly, happy dog, you do not say it you want a bug or small dog so for big i would say a golden retreiver, border collie lots of excersize needed for a collie, labrador, chocolate labrador, all easy going dogs, for small i think yorkshire terrier, shitzu, are both nice little dogs as with all dogs and children i would make sure you can 100 percent trust the dog and the child together, at 2 i dont think they should be left alone with any dog.
