Good question! Clear your doubt as quickly as possible! Because dust DOES have adverse effects on a computer. It's my personal experience. It will affect your performance. And if the dust gets too near to the RAM or the hard drive it will stop working and show a fatal error. Don't worry because these problems can be cured easily but you'll have to open your CPU. So keep it clean, and place it where the least dust accumulates.

Thank for your answer, that may be the cause the blue screen appearance in my old PC and the auto shutdown. I will make sure than it will not happen to our new one, I will keep it clean always.

Blue screen, that's the error I was talking about. It happens due to dust. It's oftenly reffered as the 'fatal error'. It can be cured easily, all you need to do is open your PC, remove the dust anyhow, and replug the wires, I mean unplug and replug the wires that are conected to RAM, hard drive or the graphics card.

Yes it does effect your computers performance. The reason being is because it clogs airflow. it builds up heat and thats not good for any part inside of a computer. They need to release the heat so they dont get burned up. your computer has to breathe. you can try using a Vaccum cleaner, or just opening the side of the computer and actually blowing out the dust with your breath. you should download speedfan and check where your systems temperature is at now, then remove the dust and then check your temperature.. might be 3 or 4 degrees cooler.. maybe even 10. hope this helped

Thank for your advice, where can I download speedfan? I am searching for a good program to monitor my computer's temperature but I can not find one.

Hi friend! The main problem of dust is overheating of your PC which will ceratinly reduce its performance and even hardware life. It may also cause malfunctioning of your hardware particularly RAM and VGA. Usually the most available solution is vacuum cleaner. However, you should be careful not to loose small hanging wires and devices. The best solution is using a blower (of course not inside your room) to remove dust. It should be done several times in year. I even try it on the fan of my laptop and it really works. Good luck!

Thank for your advice, I think I will have to go to the store were we buy the computer, I know they have a cleaning service there. Because I do not want to open my new computer because it still has its warranty maybe I will try it in my old PC for practice.

Oh yes you should do it periodically as it can cause your computer to overheat. I use the vacuum cleaner on mine about twice a year.
