How can you prevent laptops from overheating?

I know you can underclock them to reduce the voltage output to them and that will deffintley keep them cooler. but as far as i know you cant underclock laptops made from manufacturees. can you underclock with a dell or toshiba laptop? what are some other methods of reducing heat?

You just buy a laptop docking station with fan. There are many kinds, some even have built in speakers, multi USB ports, etc.. Just choose what suits your needs.
