Do you like a movie that was panned by critics or everyone said was a waste of film but you liked anyways?
For me: Howard the Duck. I use to love the music from it. It was quite catchy.

Personally I really enjoyed "American Pie presents The Naked Mile" and "American Pie presents Beta House" as they were the best of the "American Pie presents ...." movies. But most people didn't like them, or actually panned them with out actually watching them because they watched "American Pie presents Band Camp" and tarnished all these movies as lame inferiors.

I always liked the 1974 movie version of "The Great Gatsby", even though at the time, it was not a critical success, although it went on to be a financial success. Even today, it divides viewers, with some loving it, and other saying it altogether fails to capture the magnificence of Fitzgerald's masterpiece. I think the director Jack Clayton did a fine job, given its such an adored work.

Howard the Duck was doomed from the start - I didn't have the problems that the critics did, but then again, I was "aware" of where it had come from, tho I hadn't read the "source" material...
Buckaroo Banzai suffered a similar fate, and for less reasons...
Honestly, its really amazing when something like Howard succeeds - even on television, like Max Headroom
