My grandma passed away just last month, and I missed her so much. Just this morning I heard that one of our relative whom I can say is well-off, Told some people that she was the one who pay my grandma's hospital bills. She didn't pay any single cent from us! . I was like..." What the?!!! What is she thinking??!!.. She always like making up stories. Everybody in the neighborhood knows that she is like that, I was thinking of just ignoring this, I'm just angry because the one who told me was another relative that is living miles away..oh God! why are there such people who likes to make stories that are absolutely lie... What do they get from this?!!

I would not also understand why they would do that. Telling a lie just for what? Make them feel that they've done something good. Who they are fooling now? just their own selves. Anyways condolence for you. I hope that relative of yours will realize at the end. Its not really good to be like that.

Well,don't be too angry about that.That kind of people do exist.They just want to take all the credits.Even they know that sometimes people do not buy their stories,they still get used to doing that.They can be very shameless.And even your being angry will still not change their nature.So all we can do about this kind of people is to ignore them no matter how hard it is to forget what they have done.

hahaha!!! very common stories to relatives who want attention. Well, maybe this relative of yours want to be headline of the news. There are people who just want to grab the attention of the public so that they will become popular. Maybe she is thinking that because she has the money, people would believe her of what she would say. I may call them insecure people.

You what they get from all these lies, self gratiification. My brother's wife always do that, She would tell me, I did this and that for our family, for your parents and when I found out the truth that she just want to impress me, I got so mad that I wanted to scold at her. She now knows that she is that kind of person and she just to back off abit. Just tell everyone that she is a liar or simply tell the truth and she will stop doing all this.

Well, there a people like that.
If she insist slap her with the hospital and medical receipts with your name on them. That should keep her mouth shut.

I don't know what this person was thinking shurly if she's in her right mind she just of thought this story would get back to her. Maybe she just wanted to look good in that moment to those people, she lied too

hi ivygrey those are people who practice oneupsmanship, they must always outdo anyone else and will even resort to telling lies in order to top the
rest of the family.I think it makes them feel really important 
if they
think they have topped the rest of the family in any way. sad to me
as they must think that little of themselves that they have to manufacture the truth with lies.

This is probably because your relative has an inferiority complex. I mean, why would they try and lift their selves up for no reason? Not unless they feel lonely and has nothing to talk to or talk about?

well that is not much of a surprise to me already, we always got to encounter these kinds of people, specially our relatives, it is already been a custom that people makes a boast out of nothing. but do not mind them, you know anyways what is the real score, besides everyone got their own karma

There are many reasons that people lie. Perhaps in a limited number of these people will argue that lying is justified. For example lying to protect someone from the truth. But it seems that the type of lies that your relative tells are meant to get people to like her or to accept her. Problem with those types of lies is that they always come back to haunt you. Don't worry about what she lies about expecailly since you say that everyone knows and don't believe her anyway. Getting angry about her lying only hurts you.
