Batman with or without Robin?

There is a ton of anticipation for the next Batman movie, set to start production next year, and a ton of speculation about what characters it will involve and whatnot. My question is, how would you feel if Robin were in it? I am a big Batman fan, but I think he is a lot cooler when he is sidekick-less. In my experience, Robin is always made fun of. I have a really hard time imagining him fitting in the new series of Batman movies...but then again I felt that way about the Joker, too until I saw Heath Ledger pull it off remarkably.

If they managed to make it work based on one of the Robins from the comics, I might be okay with it. I never liked the character though (in the movies or the comics) so I'd rather not see him at all. I definitely think it is possible to work in a Robin character that works with Nolan's style though, since he's been pretty decent at following somewhat close to the comics.

I never got interested in comics books much when I was growing up. At least not the super hero comics. But I like all the super hero movies I've seen. It would be cool to see Robin in the next movie but he would definitely have to have a dark and gritty persona like Batman or it wouldn't work. But I'm sure it would be no problem pulling that off. What I'm really curious about is who the villian(s) will be and who will play them. I think it will be difficult to follow Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker. But it will certainly be fun to watch.

The only thing I can tell you regarding the villians is Robin Williams really wants to play the role of the riddler. Wether or not that will be a character or him playing it remains. Nolan also announced joker will no longer be in his films so Heath Ledger remains to be the only one that played him.

This is a darker version of Batman than the tongue in cheek T.V. series of the 60's. I think there is a way to add a Robin if they want to. I like Batman alone too. So I won't be upset if there is no Robin.

I agree that I always had a problem with the Joker until the last movie - he really seemed to be as crazy as they always said the Joker was in the comics, But I never really believed until the latest movie. I had issues with Robin right from the earliest comics I saw, and he was always there - I thought the loner, Bats was more believeable than adding in Robin... I never felt they protrayed Bruce as nutty enough either except in some of the revived "Dark Knight" books in the 1980 or was it 90's where Alfred was concerned about him being so nutty... I do like the idea of Bruce in the last 2 movies seeming to be the playboy - seeming to be drunk or stoned and throwing money around to make nobody believe he could be Bats... I always had a fondness for the "secret identities" anyway, what kind of guy DOES that?

I like Batman very much.. I like to have Robin by his side, The man to make fun in the middle.. Remember the movie Batman and Robin?? It was actually Fun and even Arnold Schwarzenegger looked funny in the movie in his ice suit.. But there are some people who like to have complete action stuff, so they might skip Robin and there are some those who doesn't want Robin to help Batman!!! But i support for Robin!!!

I don't think robin should be in it but I think they should have some of the makings of him in the movie. It would be like a side story like with the Batman movie. If not maybe something in the story of Batman discovering him would be cool. Heck I would take an ending hint like they did with the joker.

That's difficult because Batman & Robin in my opinion belong together. But the Batman we've watch develop in the last 2 Batman movies is very much a loner who's only reliance is on his butler. Bringing in Robin could soften things a little too much, unless they dispatch with any sense of being a buddy and make the relationship between Batman and Robin more antagonistic. Then it could work with them begrudgingly working together rather than being best friends.

I think Christopher Nolan has already shunned the idea of putting any sidekicks into his Batman films. According to the DC universe continuity... Batgirl is Barbara Gordan, the commissioner's daughter. In the Dark Knight, Two Face captures Commissioner Gordan's family... remember? Well all you get to see of Barbara is her red hair. Methinks Nolan did that to snub the batgirl fans. I'm a big fan of Batman's sidekicks, and my sister's a big fan of Robin. Personally, I loved Batman Begins but I thought that The Dark Knight was way creepy and too depressing. I would welcome seeing one of the sidekicks in the next film, but I'm pretty sure it's not going to happen.

Every suprhero needs a sidekick. They need a confidsnte to support them. They need a friend to aid them while they save the world. Batman would not be the same without Robin. The two of them need to be thought of together.

There will probably have Robin in Nolan's Batman because it's still early in his career and when Robin is introduced, Batman is a little more accepted by the public and police as a vigilante, so Robin will not be appearing as a character, although I do think they could do him justice if they did put him in there, it probably won't happen in these movies.

They best stick in Robin, when i was younger, he used to be my favourite. I always liked the way he was the "underdog" in the relationship. Orignally, batman had the batmobile, and robin had the motorbike, so i wonder if he is in this film, whether or not he will have a cool motorbike made for him, as they made a great job on that batmobile jeep thing.

Well thats the beauty of Nolan's work that he can create magic with characters which are bit funny like that of joker.Well Robin will definitely come, though not sure in next movie of batman series.Nolan will surely present this character in a very fine way to match upto the level of expectations people have from Batman series and other great movies he made, also Batman wont mind yet another support added to characters of Morgan freeman , Michael Caine and Gary Oldman.I dealry wish Nolan recreates the magic of two movies of Batman series.
