Do you think many have stopped selecting the best response on mylot?

Hello friends, since 3-4 days i have been checking the responses which i post and also see if the owner of the topic has selected any best response in thought that i might be the one, but to my surprise almost 70 percent of my reponsed topics are left without chosing a best response till date, i always make it a point that my respondents get the right of best responses they give, i think it makes mylot more lively, what is your opinion on this? Do you check on this? or give best response tags to your loyal friends?

My myLot rating may not give me much say, but I wil say this nevertheless...I've seen mylotters starting around 5 discussions a day. Hense, it would literally very difficult to keep track of which ones you've picked a best answer and which you haven't. Drag that number down to 1, and at least that gives you some flexibility.

Herro T_Diamond When you have the discussions tabs up, go to the far right "unresolved". This will list all the discussions that you have not selected best response. I find this very easy, however I only start 1-3 discussions at one time. I take the time to check the conversations I have responded to and started at least every other day. Is it time-consuming...Yes. How else will I learn? My goal is to start conversations that have numerous responses and feedback back n forth. P.S. I respond to responders within the conversation. Prosperous mylotting

Actually it doesn't matter much to me whether people give best response or not. I think I have also waited for about 3 weeks to a month before giving out so as to give the topic full room for discussion. After giving out, sometimes I get a nice surprise when the one who receives it replies back and that way, the discussion was somehow revived again. I love this feeling. I am not specific as to who gets my BR, I would give it to what I consider the best. I have given it to newbies with good responses, random reponders and also many to my friends because I find their answers sincere and honest most of the times.

Actually you posted a good topic, for this serves as a reminder to those who doesn't give out BR to do so again....

I wait several weeks or more before selecting, if there is a response deserving of the title. It frustrates me to see it selected within just a few days (some within an hour!) not giving anyone else the chance to compete for it. I remember reading several post claiming that it doesn't increase your ratings or earnings, but it is a nice thought to give someone.

I really hate that to when there is like only one person who responeded or its only been a day or so and there is already a best response. Its like you know maybe I could have come up with a better comment and they already went and gave the best response away. But you are completely right getting a best response does not increase your earnings at all. Its just nice when someone likes what you say enough to give you the best response award:)

It's hard to choose br and very time consuming. I think many people would just rather create and respond to posts than spend their extra time choosing brs.

Yes, some people are so stingy in rewarding others of their efforts. Some do not even bother to comment on the responses. Sometime I wonder why did they post a discussion in the first place.

You say choosing a best response is time consuming? What about those who don't bother to comment back when they create a new discussion? Maybe this is time consuming for them, too...

I am new to this and I didn't even know about best responses till I got an email saying that my post was chosen as a best response. I will start doing this with my posts when I start getting more responses. Of my 3 discussions started, only one of them has been answered by more than one person. I also need more friends on here. I have been posting that I am looking for new friends but so far no response.

hello linda,i guess you should try to post more responses or comments from other's discussions, not just having discussion of your own to get attention.i've seen some people like you who are like that, starting discussions to find friends. if you try to post more,if those people around here liked your post, they will definitely add you right away.without hesitations.or you could just invite them to be your friend. but i think it's best to interact with people who you want to be friends with, not just collecting them in your friend's list.

I am very new to Mylot, so please forgive my ignorance, but are there any guidelines as to how/when best responses should be given? And what is the actual benefit to receiving a best response (if any). I would like to use this feature even if it is just used to make the recipient feel good, but I want to make sure I am using it correctly. Thanks!

I gave up selecting best response a long time ago. Many people respond to my discussions (when I post them) in a very good way and I never like to choose a best one as I feel it may be unfair to the others. In my mind there is no "best", as all repsonses are usually of equal value to me. _Derek

Sorry to say, but I dont check on that. Although past days I noticed that when I started something for discussions. But because of my busy sked I got no time offering one. I just responded to some issues forwarded to me. To me I am not particular with the best response grading. I write what I want to write as long as it is within the norm.

I am starting to select the best response now. After a day or two, I would choose the comment with the most sensible response. I think people who tried their best in responding and sharing their knowledge really deserves such acknowledgment.. be blessed! :)

I still select a best response to all my discussions and that is another reason I don’t start a lot because it all takes time! It is tough to select just one when there are so many great responses but after a fair amount of pondering I always come up with one. I don’t worry too much about receiving a BR; I feel flattered when I do of course but I don’t stress if there hasn’t been one for a while!

That's actually a very good question that you have their I do it sometimes, but you know it slips my mind at other times. Still I do try more often now because I know that it's always important to do that.

I choose a best response, but first I wait for some time, because there are good answers that come after two or three weeks. I don't know if a best response is rewarded somehow by Mylot, but I'm sure that a best response encourages the mylotters to give their best when answer a discussion. And no, I don't give best response to my friends, unless their answer is the best indeed.

i usually mark the best response for my disscutions. i mark those that responded the best for what i wrote. i think who gives me a good response deserves to be awarded by me and by mulot to. i don't think that it so much truble to do a little thing like this.

I like to leave my discussions up until I'm sure I've gotten nearly all the responses I'll ever get so I have a good choice for a BR - on the other hand, I don't like picking them and have been known to put it off for over a year....

when i was a newbie,i always check on those responses i got if the user had chosen best responses.also if i had given the best out of me when responding,i aim to be the best responder, but not always. it's just the feeling of appreciation of the starter when choosing their best responders, right?sometimes i'm happy if the starter would take time to comment back on my response, but i never always aim for BR.i just want to help for some time and give my point of views.but like you said,it's really nice to receive BR's cause it gives you more inspiration to post more and more. and to make the discussion livelier.for my started ones,i want to choose what responses really striked me.those responses that are different from other views or even different from my views.i liked to interact more to learn their thoughts on things being discussed. but sometimes i also find it hard to choose which is the best for me. so i can understand some people here, specially those who are busy ones.

Its nice so see that somebody actually cares for the purpose of mylot. I mean, everybody seems like they want to make money, and nothing else. In my opinion, when you stop thinking about the reward, and just keep posting good stuff, then in no time you could get nice amount. But I'm not saying that money isn't important, because most of the users here came to get some money, all I'm saying is that worrying about your daily earnings will lower it, or something like that. Hehe
