It is being reported that a $1 million dollar bounty has been put on sheriff Joe Arpaio's head. People were also offered $1,000 to join the cartel. Just a few months ago they threatened border guards who made a big drug bust...basically told them do it again we wil kill you.. The message is being spread throught tapes, emails and text messages in Mexico and America.
Well what is it going to take for our federal government to do something? The cartels have been contracting "hits" on public figures in Mexico for a while now and killing A LOT of innocent people. It is spilling over into our country and now the cartels are going after our law enforcement and public officials.
Are we going to wait until we are like Mexico with thousands killed, kidnapped and threatened? Or we going to wait til there is fighting in the streets like in Mexico? Just what is it going to take before our government looks at what the cartels have done in Mexico and realize they are trying to now do it here in the US? When will it be enough and our government go about STOPPING them?
I can tell you right now...I would hate to live in a border city.

The cartels operate not only as an organized crime entity but as a paramilitary entity, sometimes even with cooperation of some of the more corrupt elements in the Mexican military. This must be delt with as a military issue and an armed foreign invasion. since the federal government has no apparent desire to take these issues seriously and since the states on the border either aren't able to afford the deployment of their own troops or are unwilling to take that steps to afford it, it is up to citizenry.
Sheriffs have the power to call militias and posse in to service where they exist. where they do not exist, they have to power to create them, as do most governors on the borders by most of their state constitutions.
There must be more than enough volunteers down that way who would be willing to protect their states borders and people...there must be plenty of qualified people who would volunteer and be trained properly. there must also be someone or multiple someones well off enough and willing enough to help organize, fund and arm these militias. I'm not talking about private security firms or "soldiers of fortune", I'm talking about patriotic people who are only interested in defending our country and it's people. This is what I honestly believe it is going to take now, we have already gone beyond the point of waiting for the federal military to be brought in now. This is the original purpose and intention of the militia.

then my big question is....why haven't they called up the local paramilitary or created one if needed in their states to handle this? If they do have this option....NOW is the time to use it.

Because of the stigma atatched to it I think. A lot of people, even a lot of people on the so called "right" see militias as nothing more than "wing nuts" or "potential terrorists". Society has been conditioned to this mentality. They have taken a noble institution and reduced it to a fringe belief.

whose they - society or the wingnuts? it only takes one bad apple to ruin the reputation of an entire group, and paramilitary movements do attract nutcases. i think part of the solution would be leaders being careful not to recruit the emotionally unstable, then work on a good pr campaign. another area that has the same problem is animal rights - it attracts complete lunatics.

It is going to take the feds to handle this. The local and state police say they are out manned and out gunned by the cartels. The cartels are basically equiptd like an army while our local and state police are not.
The feds needs to get off their butts and DO SOMETHING before it gets worse.

The scariest thing is knowing that if something did happen to Sheriff Arpaio, the federal government would try to stop Arizona from doing anything about it.We need to face facts, our own government doesn't give a rats behind about the people or what they want.
In November,we need to vote in people that care about our country. That pretty much means we need to vote out anyone that has been in office more that 2 terms,no matter what party. Those people only care about themselves.

Who to vote for is the question. Alot of republicans are for amnesty and not securing our borders. Some are..some aren't. We need to pick and choose who we vote for very carefully.
