household chores: bonding time with family members?

I can always relate to this topic. I grew up with maids since my father and mother both attend to work in a day to day basis. We just meet together at dinner and there are times that we are already asleep when they went home. This is one of the most sad experiences of families that can’t be together that long. So what they did is that they indulge us kids in some household chores like cooking and gardening. That’s the only time when we talk about updates at school and work. They don’t ask questions from us we just readily share our stories and our escapades too. This is a very good opportunity for family members to learn housekeeping skills, develop a sense of responsibility and at the same time bond with each other. Do you agree?
