Do you think the "good old days" were better as everyone seems to prefer that.

For me good old days were more simple and wholesome. Friendships and marriages last longer and were more honest and truthful. And even food seems to taste better.
Although there were troubles, wars and famines (there will always be problems too) during the good old days - we do not live under the constant shadow of terrorism, environmental issues, global financial meltdown and consumerism like now.
Much as progress has been made, do you prefer the 'good old days"?

I think I would love to be back in the "good old days". Life was simple and so much better I believe. Kids played outside with their friends and people were just so much nicer to each other. All the parents looked out for the kids in the neighborhood. It was like one big happy family. People were there for each other more. Now adays people don't even know their neighbors. Technogy has taken over the world and because of this people don't talk to each face to face as much. Its mostly IM, texting or emailing. I think we have become a cold hearted society and I can't imagine what it will be like in 10 or 20 years.

hi lelin, thanks for sharing your thoughts. Not discounting how technology has improved our lives, I think "good old days" bring us very much back to the basics of faith hope and love. Maybe it sounds rather cheesy but at the end of the day, that is really what life is all about. Ponder on it.

Hi, carpediem17. Yes, back then was the "good old days". It was more fun and it was not as crazy and dangerous as it is now. There were many murders, but it was not so bad as it is now. I know that I have enjoyed the old music back in the days. It is nothing explicit as it is now. I miss those days.

hi cream, the music of that time certainly stands out and many of which are still popular these days with their remixes.

I don't know if I would like to be stuck in the good old days but I do think that they definitely had some advantages over our so called modern times. I think I would like it if they brought back old family values instead of kids disrespecting their parents and other adults. I think respect for your elders would be the best thing to be brought back.

Thanks Laurelle for your feedback. Yup, definitely respect for the parents and adults. Seems so lacking in kids these days that we are so impressed when any kid display good manners.
