My friend is giving me his siamese fighting fish as he is moving interstate. He has males & I am thinking about getting 1 or 2 females as he has given me 2 of his empty tanks...I have just been looking at how to breed them on the internet & it's exactly like my friend said...Have you tried brreding these fish? If I do breed them, I will more than likely sell them to a pet store or put a sign up outside my house advertising them for sale. Have you had success in breeding these fish?

Hello there. I'm new to bettas and everyday i get excited. I haven't bought any but my 7 year old brother and his friends keep on buying and talking about betta for a week now. So i get interested and did some readings online on how to breed and proper handling. I hope someday we will be successful and sell it in the near future. So, what type of betta you have now? Any betta for show? Any photos to share?

Hi moonchild. I love Siamese fighting fish (otherwise known as Bettas). They are so beautiful! I've only had males before, so I have no experience when it comes to breeding them. Sorry. The only thing I really remember about Bettas is not to put males together in the same tank or else they will fight. That, and the females don't have long flowing tails like the males. Anyway, best of luck with breeding them! Happy mylotting!

Betta - Male Delta Tail Betta.
Is this price for regular Bettas or the fancier ones? I'm only asking because I noticed that the regular Bettas around here are about $3.50 (USD) for the males and the fancier ones, like Delta Tail's and Half Moon's, are priced around $13 (USD) for the males.

This is for the regular Bettas! When you want fancier ones, they can be anywhere between $AU20-40 & that's for male or female!

I agree that they are beautiful fish & difficult to breed unless you get the timing right...the are a little on the expensite side here like $AU10-12 for females & $AU15 for males...I have 2 males (in separate tanks of course) & 2 females in the same tank I am just waiting for 2 to be ready so I can hopefully breed them.

I don't know much about breeding Siamese Fighting fish.I have successfully bred guppies and mollies.I've been told by the local aquarium that one ought to feed the baby fish a food called daphnia which is not easily available and lack of it raises infant mortality.I think its better you search for tips regarding breeding on the net or buy a few books as they will give out more details regarding mating and breeding Siamese fighter fish.

I will definitely do some more research before I go ahead & breed the fish, I have read a couple of websites which say exactly the same thing about brreding them...it seems easy enough but at the same time, I don't want the fish to fight either.
