Rich people are supposed to have all the comforts and luxuries and the poor have to do without these. But when it comes to happiness, I find that the poor are happier than the rich. They do not have much of tensions, many of the major incurable diseases do not seem to bother them. They take life as it comes and have all the time to enjoy more. What are your views and experiences!

You know, thesids, I had a talk with my friend on this topic this morning! Here's what I told her: I grew up with my mom teaching me the value of having simple but clean home. She would always say "I'm maybe poor but my house is clean and I can sleep well." That was to remind all seven of us, her children, to be content and to not focus on material things and be tempted to loan money just to get what we wanted. My mom would say that the rich may be living in a house full of nice appliance and furniture but their mind is not at peace and their air-conditioned room could not help them to sleep better because they have financial obligations to think about like loans and bills. I'm passing on this value to my children, whether they become rich (I pray so) or not but I hope they enjoy life by having those essentials...hmmm...this reminded me of our previous discussion on health and peace of mind.

How very true ruthsm... I would have loved to meet your mom... She has summed up the fact of life - "A perfect Sleep is all what everyone wants".

We can never find the right ratio of happiness between the two status of the society (life status) Being rich and famous is everyone dreamed of (maybe not everyone, but mostly) Since i am not rich and famous i want to experience the kind of life they are enjoying. Whether they really enjoyed it or not. I've seen poor ones with happy smiles, simple dreams and simple desires. But deep within their hearts we never knew what they really wanted to be. Same thing with those rich and famous people,we can never say if they really were contented with their lives. Happiness is something felt deep within us,only those who were happy and living in peace can say that life is wonderful. Have a good day always

Happiness has nothing to do with money, it is all about knowing yourself, being comfortable in your own skin and knowing what makes you happy, and focusing on that. So there are rich people who are happy, and there are poor people who are happy. That's what I think anyway!

I rich are more happier. 'Cause i am poor and i don't find any meaning in my life. It is just not fair for me.

I agree with you! Many poor people are poor in material possessions ,but they are rich in mental. And many wealthy people seem happy in appeatent ,attually , they have a lot things sad in their mind.

According to me poor people are much happier than the rich people. Poor people don't have money to buy fancy computers, Xboxes, expensive gadgtes & they spend more time with each other. If you spent time with your family we get more happiness. The poor people can be happy with little things while the rich tend to complain about something that isn't upto the standards. Poor people have love. They realize love & happiness comes from within & not from external situation or conditions.

Rich or poor all have the right to enjoy life in their own ways. The only difference is that the rich have more luxuaries as they can afford. the poor also do enjoy life with the little what they have. But i feel that unless you have the urge to do something you will not get anything. You need to expect things and then only you will get.

Enjoyment is everywhere and it doesn't know rich or poor. mostly the poor enjoys life because he gets satisfied soon which the rich feels hard.
