Do you have a friend or a family member who isn't online and may never be? I must confess before September 2005 I was adamant that I would Never use computer but I tried a computer when my nephew showed me my first online game. It was Noah's Ark. I got comfortable and now I find half my life is online! But I still don't assume Everyone is online. Whenever I want to suggest something online, I Always ask the person, " Do you have a computer?" I have been lucky. All my friends are online. I hate phones so email is a G-dsend! How about you? Do you have friends who you chat with online and others you can Only talk on the phone because they are offline?

You are not the only one that hates talking on the phone! I hate it,too! I have a few family members that will never been on line! One is my father! His 86 and he is clueless about all this stuff! His girlfriend is the same way! My younger brother only uses a computer at work. He only uses it for work purposes like ordering stuff. If I need to contact little brother I will only call him if I really need to. Other wise I go on line and e-mail his wife to give him a message like I did yesterday! Then she e-mails me back! It works! If my father neds to call me he ususally has his girlfriend call and after I talk to her I talk to him. Otherwise I don't talk to him unless the whole family has a get together.

Hi Sarah! I joined mylot more than 3 years ago, I befriend many here and I communicate with only those friends, who are from mylot, as far as on-line business is concerned. I have real life friends, with whom I talk on phone and in person.

I have one very close friend that doesn't do computers...I was like you. I don't need one! That's what I said. Then someone gave me one for my writing..when my daughters moved to Europe they hooked me up to the internet so I could be in contact with them....and it was a Godsend! Now I usually have at least two computers in the house so I don't have to worry when one goes down! LOL....

Most of my friends are often offline. So we just communicate by phone. As for me, I am always in front of the computer but I go invisible. I am not really fond of chatting except with family and very very close friends. Have a nice day!

I'd say most of my friends are online. With our generation, I hardly know anyone who doesn't use a computer - if they can't afford one for home, they usually have access to one at work or school. But I do have a few elderly friends who do not use the computer - either they refuse to or just plain don't know how to use one. I hate using the phone too! So emailing or using Facebook is a way to communicate with almost everyone I know - I hate using the phone as well. As far as family goes, my parents and most of their peers in the family do not use the computer - I don't know why. I don't think most of them even know how to type!

I knew very little about typing before the computer. So I can see thinking if one can't type , Why use the computer?
