According to you, what you'll prefer? Want to live in rented house or own house?
For me, i can say rented house is better than own house. We can shift the place easliy near to office or any other comfortable place. Can feel relax without concerning more about maintanence. Nicely ask owner to do maintanence ;). Whats your opinion?

I prefer to live in my own house than a rented house. In a rented house there are too many restrictions imposed by a landlord, some say no pets, no visitors to stay over some even say no kids. I love the fact that any repairs and investments i do is always for me and besides i don't have to cough up any rent at the end of the month. I used to rent and i find it very restrictive, sometimes when you have just begun to feel settled you are given notice to leave...uuugh!!

Yes. Sure. We feel proud and be free to use our own house in the way we like. But we've to plan accordingly and write budget so that it wont be tension later to manage the expense.

It still depends.
But for me I'd much prefer a house of my own. Okay, well maybe there's maintenance problem but that's part of the entire reason why you built your own house. To take care of it because you poured so much sacrifice into it.
Practicality-wise, it may not be the winner, but human beings have this innate sense of territory. We will always yearn for something of our own. Even more I yearn for something that I can leave as a legacy to my children. I don't think I can do that with a condominium unit.
Just saying...:)

I actually prefer owning my own house. Then your house is also an investment in the future, since you can sell it or rent it further on if you want. Owning a house is also cheaper in the long run, at least where I live.

Yes. Its true. Everywhere owning house becoming good business. we can give it for rent and ean money easily. And can increase the rent too. But i wanted to tell for the middle family i mean less earning family should wait and save enough money to build and should not take loan more and struggle to close it. Its better to live in rented house peacefully.

We live in a rented house as the houses here are not worth it, they're rubbish compared with the money.

My husband and I have always owned our own home and the headaches that go along with home ownership. It seems like there is always something to do when you own a home. The biggest advantage of owning a home over renting is that your expenses are relatively fixed. While rent goes up once or twice a year, a house payment is fixed. After we retired, we decided to downsize into a condo so that we have the benefit of home ownership but pay a monthly association fee that covers repairs. The only thing that I don't like about it is the loss of the freedom to move from place to place. I'm at the stage of my life where I have wanderlust in my soul.

You're correct. In the own house expense is fixed rate. But here in our country India, many suffering to pay the loan they took to construct the house. In the early days of their family life, struggling to close the loan, working hard and losing the enjoyment. So for the middle family, its better to stay in rented house i guess.

Hi Ramesh,
As i told, living in own house might be good. But for middle families, its very big problem to own house. Mostly they'll take loan. their part of life will spend in closing it. If person having sufficient amount of money to build house, then okay. Taking loan and worrying about is bad. Better to live in rented house happily. If we dont like owner just change the house. ;)

My family has done both, but it's much nicer living in a house that you own, than living in a rental. In a rental, you always have to worry about breaking thins and hole in the wall. In your own house, you can do whatever you want.

Yes i accept that we can do anything in our own house. Anyway we're going to decorate our house. what else you'll do in own house. Those we can do in rented house too. We have to maintain our own house in our own expense. If we're in rented house can ask owner nicely to repair things. ;)
