Is it from one egg cell and one sperm cell? Or 1 egg cell and two sperm cells? Why are they identical?

Yes,the identical twins are born from the same. The zygote splits and forms two embryos and these genetically identical embryos develop into identical twins. If the zygote does not split completely into two embryos then we get conjoined twins. Which will have to be separated later by operation. But remember that not all twins are identical....hope you got it right!!

Alright I will try to remember my biology subject in my highschool class. I think that twins are identical because they develop from one zygote, that splits and forms two embryos and I think they share the same traits and genes. Pardon me if I'm mistaken but I Think it was the reason behind it.
