...typed in more than a hundred words for a comment, spent a few minutes thinking about it, and another few seconds reading it through, and then clicking the "preview comment", only to find your text go poof! All gone??? Why the heck did I get redirected to the homepage??? Grrr... :(( I got so pissed off, and I just went off to find another topic to type in to. (Though in reality, I really regret not being able to share what I just typed.) Moral Lesson: Don't ever hit the "preview" button. (I never use it ever since.) And perform a quick "Select All" + "Copy" before submitting. So, have you?

I had such an experience to and was really pissed off. Ever since then, I first copy what I wrote and paste it in a notepad before I hit the preview or post button. It's a little bit troublesome, but I don't have to worry about losing what I typed anymore. Compared with typing anew, copying seems to save much more time. You can try it.

I never had any problem with the preview page (back when I was a regular member), but now that I've rejoined and am a lowly beginner, not being able to copy and paste is driving me crazy. I've already lost a couple of replies to people because mylot lost the connection. I'm hardly ever willing to retype an answer. "Copy" isn't going to do you any good until you reach 500 points, so we're both in the same boat. It's frustrating.

Same goes for me here. However, the Copy thing is just so I can still re-type my original text so that I won't have to rethink all of it if ever I really want to post it. :)

And here I thought I was the only one with that problem. I was thinking it was my pc doing it. Nothing is more frustrating than putting much thought and effort in a serious discussion and when you get through and want to proof it and hit preview to have everything you put your heart and soul into disappear. It infuriates me because by then after spending an inordinate amount of time typing there is no way I can start over and do it again so I just forget that discussion and have to go on. I am not computer savvy enough to figure things out like some of you folks. That said, I never, ever use preview anymore. It's not worth it.

I so agree! They should just remove the preview button altogether. It's just a waste of space. ;P

I am a new one here and so far I am not use to previewing comments because i don't really care how many characters I type. I just write what I feel and don't care on other things. Just being frank will be enough. Just relax breathe in and breathe out. be happy and don't let this stress you out

Yup, I agree, I was just pissed off for a few seconds there. And then I'm off already to the next one. :) Life is simple. ;)

Just a safety measure... just perform the "select all" + "copy" routine, so that if previewing or posting fails... just do a quick "paste" then all your frustration will be gone. It happened to me... more than 10 times already.

You can "Paste" your text? I thought for beginners like us you can't?

right there is nothing worse than loosing all the words when you want to say smth and at the end when you are going to finish it all disappers. I thinking that they should do smt about this issue dont you think ??One time I was just writing about an http://motorbicycle.org connecting to my bike and it all just get itself deleted. I wanted to kill sb responsible

Yes, they should. Well, since their members are surely growing, they should upgrade their servers now, right? And that's actually a great sign for them. Don't get me wrong, I love MyLot. :))

I never hit the preview button, I just reread my post when it's freshly typed. :) Too bad for your post... I usually copy all my comments, because my internet frequently fails! I know how you feel, because I didn't always copy my comments... I hate it when that happens, and usually I'm too frustrated an lazy to type the whole thing again. *select all + copy* Check! ;)
