Okay in our family we have an old piano that we know was made in the late 1800's and we found the numbers that go with the piano on the back. Well I did some Google searching and have not been able to find much of all. That is why I am coming to you all to maybe tell me a site where I might be able to find the value of the piano or maybe someone I could call. Really any help at all... maybe even if someone here directly could help me that would be great also! If so then let me know and I will post the details on the piano! Any help at all would be appreciated! Can not wait to hear the responses! Happy Mylotting!

I found this site that does free piano appraisals. In order to use it, you need the make and a serial number (it tells you how to find it). Your piano may be too old, but maybe this will help: http://www.esteypiano.com/va/va_2.htm

Great, hope it helps. Maybe I'll check it out myself and see if I can figure out what mom's piano is worth...

Wow... that site looks great and just what I was looking for! I think this will be a definite option in me trying to find a place to appraise it and at free you can not beat it! Once again thanks a lot and will post if I find anything out! :D

I hope your not planning to sale it. I would suggest just looking up the manufacturer to see if they are still in business. Then going from there, or you could always call a music instrument shop and see if they know anyone who could appraise it for you. Did you know it takes either 11 months to make a piano? I believe that's how long it is.

Well it is really not up to me if we sell it... I am just the price looker upper for a family member. We know that the company that made it way back then is out of business now... that is a good tip. I may look for someone like that in my area. Wow I did not know that.... I bet it is amazingly difficult to make a piano! P.S. - You going to be on our place?

I think that it takes that long to make a piano because they have to make sure each piece is in place right and then make sure it's tuned correctly. I actually saw this on a snippet on The Disney Channel. I'll get back on the forum, if that's what you mean, at some point. Been watching Walker lately and hanging out with friends so been busy.
