Is it just me, or does anyone else like cold maple syrup on their pancakes and waffles?
I am a lover of breakfast foods (especially the carbs, lol). I have always loved making pancakes, waffles and french toast at home. And when I sit down to eat it, I take out the maple syrup from the refigerator and pour it on cold. I love the contrast of the cold syrup and the warm crispy food. :o

I usually have cold syrup because after it is opened, it is kept in the fridge. The only time I have warm syrup is when it is first opened. I'm more used to it cold, so I guess I prefer it that temperature.

Honestly I've never thought about the temperature of the syrup. I am usually thankful that I have enough to get thru the meal. I love carbs too only problem is too many carbs pack on the pounds.

I've never had maple syrup any other way than cold. I was first introduced to pancakes with maple syrup way back in the 80's when my boyfriend and I would go out we would often end up at a place called Pancakes on the Rocks. When I have pancakes now, that's how I have them ...with maple syrup, walnuts and butter...I have a stack. Yumm. I think that might be what I have for dinner tonight.

I like that contrast, too. What is really delicious is real butter, cold, on a hot and toasty bagel. Fattening, but heavenly! Likewise, cold cream cheese on hot waffles. I don't get either of these often but when I do it's like a little slice of luxury!

I am the same as you and my family also loves having breakfast for dinner, although I have a feeling that we do not do it quite as often as you do =)But yes we too like cold syrup on our breakfast items. Whenever I buy syrup from the store I bring it home and put it into the refridgerator for use. But I think I just do this more for convenience and have gotten use to it that way but I also know that I have been to a few resturants that heat their syrup and I also love it that way but don't feel like taking the time to do it so cold is our way LOL

I also like cold syrup on my pancakes or French toast. We keep it in our refrigerator then pour it on cold and add a little bit of butter. That to me makes it perfect. Sometimes I am a little bit of a cheater on this though and we get Eggo waffles that you can just pop in the toaster and warm them up that way.
