Hello Friends - I just found a great help for all of us who want to read the Bible. It is a Bible Reading Schedule online! You can print it out if you wish, but it is a great help to have online. You can mark and save what chapters you have read and if you click on the blue chapter numbers, a window comes up with those chapters so that you can read them on your computer screen. If you need a bigger text, just click on full screen and then on ctrl+ once or more, and there it is, just as big as you need. The text comes up one chapter at the time so you need to scroll down to click the arrow for next chapter. http://www.watchtower.org/e/20090801a/diagram_01.htm I am now reading Genesis and as I follow a school program, I am also reading 1 Kings. Those of us who are reading the Bible, have you found something you would like to share with us?? It would be really interesting to hear your thoughts!!

I would be very careful with this site, it is a Jehovah's Witness site, not a Christian site, I'd find a good Christian book store near you and get a study book from there...

Thanks for your comment. It is important that we compare any religion with the Bible and see if they follow it. Then we have the freedom to choose the one we like. Have a great day.

I appreciate that you express your opinion. Can I ask you to check this article? http://www.watchtower.org/e/20050915/article_02.htm Is there anything in the article or anywhere else on the site that shows that the Witnesses don´t believe in Jesus Christ? Personally I have followed them very closely the latest 50 years and have not found any proof that they would not follow Christ or would not believe that he is the savior. But to my surprise I have found that there are still people who say the same as you..Big mystery, don´t you think? So please tell me what you have found after studying the site..

Just keep in mind that they do not believe Christ is the savior, I'd stay away from that kind of site if you are a Christian, God bless..

The Bible is God's breath. The essence of His person. God's speaking-out through men, borne by the Holy Spirit. The Bible is God's speaking--in the prophets and in the Son. The Bible is the Holy Spirit's revelation. The Bible testifies concerning the Lord Jesus. The Bible makes men wise---wise unto salvation. The Bible causes man to be regenerated(receive the life of God). The Bible is our spiritual food and spiritual milk, our bread of life. It makes us all complete to be a man of God. All-Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for conviction, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

Hi, overcomer_phoebe I can see that you are familiar with the Word of God. And you express what you believe in a beautiful way. I guess you have been reading the Bible for a long time. Have you any special schedule? Thank you for this inspiring response!

Yeah! the online version is awesome, for people who are busy and always work on the system, this is a very convenient way of reading the Bible. I prefer to read the book itself, i enjoy reading it that way. Even I'm in genesis and hope to complete it by this week, how far are you?

Yes, reading the text from a book is probably better for the eyes. This schedule could help someone who is working on a computer and wants to take a break and read the Bible for a few minutes. I am not so far in the reading yet, will start reading about Isaac and how he blessed Jacob. These two brothers were really different. Esau was the first born and could have been an ancestor to Messiah, Jesus Christ - but as it says in Genesis 25:34 "Esau despised his birthright." That is a reminder for us too, to set the spiritual things before material winnings. In Esau´s case it was the passion for hunting that took too much place from his life. These thoughts came up in my mind while reading - please share with us when you find something special.

I don't want to read the Bible online, because reading it meant intimacy/fellowship with God during those quiet moments, so I rather read the Bible than going online just to read it. I believe that Bible is essential to a faithful walk, and it would really be nice if you have your hard copy Bible, there are many Bible right now in the market, some have small font, and some have big font, so you have choices to pick on to what suites your eyes best. Like for me, i have a 20/20 vision, so i have a small Bible that i can carry around wherever i go. Also, i suggest you start reading John (4th book of the new testament) first. Because it is where most of Jesus Christ's ministry is narrated and where faithful walk is first explained and all those other essential things. This is normally the good start if you're new in reading the Bible. Patter goes from John to Jude (2nd to the last book of new testament) then jump to Genesis up to the end (Revelation). Because if you're a first time reader, probably when you reach Leviticus you would start jumping from book to book or you would stop (this reactions were observed by a few friends when they start reading it from Genesis) God bless (",)

Hi, choconut Thanks for your response. Yes, for the first time reader it could be good to start in the Greek Scriptures, and why not with John. We can also choose to read different books on different days and have several bookmarks in our bible. I like to read the Bible as a real book too. It is also possible to have a notebook for the thoughts that come up and underline some verses that you want to remember. I just checked my bookshelf and counted to seven different translations and comparing them is very interesting too. And, oh..forgot my grandma´s bible, with an old fashioned text I barely can read. I think I will read Proverbs now and then too. This book takes time - you need to think of every verse.. Many blessings to you too!!

I always put on my goal to read the bible in a year. I read 1 chapter a day and then I realize that it is not realistic because the bible has more than 900 chapters. So I just reset my goal and read 1 chapter a day for 3 years. It sounds long enough but it is more realistic and more easy to accomplish.

Hi, dudsdoojaxi1 Thanks for your response. It is a good thing that you can read at your own pace, because we need to meditate too and that takes time. We all have to find our own schedule..
