Sometimes I DO Like Surprises

When I spoke to my hubby on the telephone whilst I was at Mum's he told me that I'd had a letter sent to me by my friend Sandy. I was so pleased about this because I'd only just been thinking about her and wondering if she'd had her latest baby yet (it would be her 5th) so to receive a letter AND a photograph of the new arrival was a lovely surprise when I came home. I sent her an email last night to let her know that I'd be ringing her up tonight. She hadn't checked it but I suppose it was her turn to get a surprise from me as she obviously didn't know I was about to ring her up. It was great hearing her again as she always manages to cheer me up because she is funny. She is now determined to send me some more photos via email. I will give her enough time though as it can't be easy looking after 5 kids plus a husband. Of course it's the school holidays now as well. If I'd known her telephone number I could've rang her last week and met up with her in Preston (which is close to Blackpool) but I shall have to do that some other time. Have you had any nice surprises lately?

Yes, but what if PNE had been a great team? 5 kids, yikes, and she's kept her sense of humor? Good for her!!!

Yes, it was nice talking to Sandy after all this time. Never in a million years did I think she would have 5 kids...but she has. I'm pleased because she was having problems with her hubby (he would follow Preston North End, their local footy team religiously and go on "benders") and she once said to him, "it's either me or the football!" Obviously, he chose her which is just as well because PNE are crap now!

Hello Janey. That was a lovely surprise for you, I hope you get the other photo's soon. I had aa little surprise yesterday, hubby told me we'd been invited to a barbecue later in the day. He hadn't told be before because it would have been cancelled if the weather was bad and he didn't want me to be disappointed. Well it was a good day and best of all I didn't have to cook dinner

Excellent! So pleased you could enjoy yourself with hubby like that. It's funny how the little things mean so much to us. Up until ringing Sandy (my friend) I'd been feeling a tad depressed but she ALWAYS manages to cheer me up and the best thing of all is that she doesn't realise she's doing it as she's naturally funny.

Hi Janey, That must have been a lovely surprise for you, its nice when friends do that, I have not heard from my friend for over a year so I rang her and give her surprise, but had a go at me for not getting int touch sooner, but I often wondered why she didn't ring me up instead, lol! Tamara

Haha! I know what you mean. I could've rang my friend up miles earlier than I did but I suppose her letter kick-started me into doing it...and I'm glad I did because she was on top form as usual!
