I have a computer that has a habit of crashing at least ten or so times per day. i gives me the same message most of the time. Have tried tweeking as I have looked up on the internet and it doesn't do it as often as it used to. i don't want to have to take it to a technition as yet as i don't want to be without a computer for too long. My daughter took hers in and it took a month. So if I can fix it without having to do that would be great.

Hi! Can you please post the exact error messages here for us to look at. We can usually determine what is the problem with that message. Also, what program in particular you are using when it crashes? Have you installed new software or hardware before the problem appeared? Some causes of crashing are: 1.) Overheating - this includes Processor, Video Card and Chipset. 2.) Defective memory - defective memory can cause system crash and lockups. 3.) Incompatible or corrupted device drivers. 4.) Incompatible softwares. 5.) Virus infections. 6.) In some cases, defective motherboard. 7.) In some cases, power supply that is failing. Please post back so that we here can help you. Thanks and goodluck!

I would say to format it and reinstall the OS. It is quite easy to install. Just put the cd in at start up and follow the instruction. Then you should install a virus protection as soon after.

You said it keeps on giving you the same message most of the time. What was the message? Maybe you can list it down and post it here so people can really help you diagnose your problem. Cheers! :)
