Do you allow anyone to change you as a person?

I am often told by my mom to change my attitude because i always am tardy in doing household chores. Now I do household chores but i do have my own methods. My mom is not contented with the way i do, she wants me to follow her ways and I did. The problem is i'm not fast as she is and I can't be that good. Why can't she understand it.

Even my mother is like this she believes that if I stop losing my temper on small things then I might be a better person so I think she is trying to change me but I do not have any problem with it as far as it is a good thing for me and my personality.

I also feel the same sentiments. That is what I always complain with my mom, I always told her that I will do things in my way and my own style and method. But just like your mom she would say it would easier and much faster. But I dont find it that way. That is why sometimes if she wants me to do things at home I would always see to it that she is not around.

Because she is your mother, she thinks she knows best. My mom is like that too, maybe even worse. As far as changing myself as a person.. No I won't change who I am for anyone. But being tardy is not who you are as a person. Everyone has good and bad qualities about them. It's good to work on your bad qualities to improve them. I have a lot that I'm trying to work on.. I'm still the same person though.
